Hello I didn't see any articles relating to USFCA's BSN program Sp 21 so I decided to make one myself. I applied for the Fall 2020 program but got an offer for Spring 2021 instead. I was wondering if anyone else is planning to apply/got offered an admission/ already attending USF for nursing. I would love to get acquainted with my future cohort/ current nursing students at USF.

I got accepted into the Spring 2021 BSN program as well ? did you get into other programs? If so, why did you decide on USF?

How did you already get accepted? Does the program have rolling admissions?
Hi Lian, I got into other programs but they were all ADN(SJDC, SCC, ARC), and I chose to go with USF because I wanted to finish my BSN in one place. It's true I could bridge from ADN to BSN but I didn't want to go through the hassle of applying again and having to settle in a new program. One other reason I chose to go to USF was that they offered me a 15k scholarship for my whole program. This only comes to 45k a year but along with FAFSA I found it sufficient for my needs. I also liked that USF had clinical partnerships with many of the top hospitals in the bay, hope this helps and CONGRATS!

Hi Momo,
I don't believe USF has rolling admissions. I initially applied for the fall program and got accepted for fall. However, USF offered to start me in Spring because I had all my prerequisites and other supplementary classes finished. People that start in fall usually have one or two prerequisites they need to finish to start their clinicals.

Hi Kyle,
Thanks for responding and CONGRATS on your acceptance!! I am still a bit iffy on if I should apply or not. I am not a big fan of the program taking 3 years to complete (6 semesters). There’s also a huge price tag which means lots of loans to pay off later :(
Do you know anyone currently in the program that would highly recommend it? Also do you happen to know how many spots there are? I am missing two of the classes from core curriculum (their version of GE’s?) so IDK how that would affect my application

Does anyone know when USF's application opens for Spring 2021's cohort? I am assuming one has to apply to USF using the CommonApp first?
Thanks.

There is only one application and you apply on their website. I was confused about this too but I talked to an admissions counselor and they said there was only 1 application.

I believe it's worth applying, they also have fee waivers for the application which should be taken advantage of! For the fall semester, they take 30 students and Spring 60 students. I know a few people that attended USF but not for nursing(they took Law) and they loved it. I personally chose USF because I liked that they had connections with many of the major hospitals around SF(from the list I saw about 15-20 hospitals). As for your GE's it depends on which ones. If you have all your sciences finished you should be fine. I agree that three years is quite long but for myself personally, I thought it would be better than not accepting and then waiting more years to get accepted into a "top" school. Not to say that USF is not a top school, they have great stats as well, I believe their NCLEX passing rate was 91% for over 200 students. The other school I got into which was an ADN only had a passing rate of 80% with only 100 students.
Hi guys! I just sent in my application for Spring 2021! For those that have already gotten in, did you send in a letter of recommendation with the app? I know it is optional but I'm wondering if it will help in any way

I didn't turn in a letter of rec, although I did have one. I recently attended an online Q&A for the nursing program at USF and I remember the counselors saying not to turn letters of rec because they won't even take the time to read it.

Science GPA 4.0
CNA experience: 1year (800 hrs)

The only thing im worried about is that ill be applying with one of my science pre reqs as in progress. I'll be finishing my A&P 2 end of december
Does anyone know if this would affect or decrease my changes of getting in?
