University of San Francisco BSN Spring 2021

Published

Hello I didn't see any articles relating to USFCA's BSN program Sp 21 so I decided to make one myself. I applied for the Fall 2020 program but got an offer for Spring 2021 instead. I was wondering if anyone else is planning to apply/got offered an admission/ already attending USF for nursing. I would love to get acquainted with my future cohort/ current nursing students at USF.

Hi guys! I just sent in my application for Spring 2021! For those that have already gotten in, did you send in a letter of recommendation with the app? I know it is optional but I'm wondering if it will help in any way

You can submit it but its not recommended and I don't think it will help. That's what they said in the meeting

Hey guys! I'm applying as a transfer for Spring 2021 as well. I was wondering what your guy's stats are for applying. Mine are

Overall GPA 3.9

Science GPA 4.0

CNA experience: 1year (800 hrs)

Hospital volunteer

The only thing im worried about is that ill be applying with one of my science pre reqs as in progress. I'll be finishing my A&P 2 end of december

Does anyone know if this would affect or decrease my changes of getting in?

Great stats!
Mine are:

-3.5 pre requisite GPA, 3.7 overall GPA

-2 AA degrees/ 1 AS, left cc with honors designation + member of honors society (magna cum laude)

-over 200+ hours of volunteer experience in healthcare setting. Experience teaching school aged children

-bilingual

And with the class being in progress it honestly just depends how competitive the applicant pool is this time around. Given that your GPAs are on the higher end I don’t think you have much to worry about unless they get an enormous amount of apps.

Does anyone know when they release admissions decisions?

Hello,

My stats were around 3.8 overall, and 4.0 in Sciences

only have 10 hours of volunteer, 1AA with honors, and bilingual.

I don't think having an in-progress would affect their decision as much, I believe that the essays would have a greater impact. Hope to see you in my cohort!

Does anyone know what the curriculum/clinical rotation sequence is? Also what hospitals they partner with or where they are located? I’m trying to find more in depth info about the program but they don’t have much on the website.

Hello,

For the first sem of clinical's new nursing students will mainly use the skills lab in order to practice nursing skills. Once a student is tested and proves that he/she is competent then we are assigned a clinical setting in one or more hospitals that USFCA is partnered with. I tried to find the hospitals USFCA is partnered with but I wasn't able to, some of the hospitals I can remember at the top of my head were; Mark Zuckerberg Hospital, UCSF Medical Center, Kaiser, Sutter, Veterans hospital, etc. There were about 30-40 Hospitals on the list.

Hope this helps.

Congratulations!! I am a bit confused on my status maybe you can help?
I received an email that says “As students review their offers and make their decisions, we will continually assess the spaces available for the incoming class. While we were unable to make you an offer in this first round, I want to assure you that your application is still being given serious consideration, but we are on hold until we can confirm the spaces we have available in the class. Currently, our plan is to make additional offers of admission as space permits. I will provide another update on your application status no later than Thursday, December 10.”
So does this mean I’m waitlisted?? They didn’t come out and directly say it so I’m not sure if I got rejected or not. If anyone got a rejection, do they flat out tell you? Or did you get a similar email?

When I got rejected the first time they flat out told me I was rejected. I believe you are on a waitlist and if a lot of people don't accept their decision letters then you will be given their spots.

Hi there! I got the same email! I didn’t even think that it meant necessarily waitlisted until you said that. I mean it would make sense that it’s waitlisted and not rejected. I think if we were rejected they would be straightforward and say that they were unable to offer us admission. I will keep you updated if I get anything else!! Praying we can both get in ?
