University of San Francisco BSN Spring 2021

Published

Hello I didn't see any articles relating to USFCA's BSN program Sp 21 so I decided to make one myself. I applied for the Fall 2020 program but got an offer for Spring 2021 instead. I was wondering if anyone else is planning to apply/got offered an admission/ already attending USF for nursing. I would love to get acquainted with my future cohort/ current nursing students at USF.

I’m sure there will be less! I bet people won’t want to take the test online, so there will probably be less applicants. I hope there are and that you have a better chance! What would you do if you got into USF? Would you go or hold out on Samuel Merritt? SMU was my preferred because the program is shorter, but getting in anywhere would make me happy. I didn’t know that either until it was too late ? & Thank you! I hope you get in somewhere too!! ?

I’m in a bit of a tough situation because I’m also waitlisted at CSU East bay for fall 2021 (formerly fall 2020 but got deferred due to Covid). East bay has been my top from the very beginning, I even got awarded a presidential scholarship so it would basically pay for itself. But I don’t know my number so I don’t know the odds of getting off the list. They could contact me in the Spring at any time.

If I get offered a spot at USF I think the safe and responsible thing to do is to take it. But it is A LOT of money. And I want to go to graduate school which means taking out lots of loans. SMU is preferred over USF because it’s only 2 years so ~50k less than USF. But obviously East bay is preferred over all of them so I really don’t know what to do. It’s a gamble?

Ah that is a tough situation! And the situation with east bay is hard because you would have it paid but don’t know when they could contact you about going ? I was worried about the money too, but my friend went to USF and has lots of loans too. She said it was worth it though because now she’s working full time as a nurse and is able to pay them off. She is a full time l & d nurse and said that while USF is expensive that it’s worth it! I hope you can get in somewhere and soon so you can start your journey!!

does anyone know how much the deposit is? I tried looking in the portal but it does not even let me LOL

That’s a good question. I have no idea. Probably a couple hundred or so. I know Samuel Merritt’s deposit was like $300.

Yikes. Probably to discourage people from committing and then backing out. I think that’s the highest deposit for a program I’ve ever heard of LOL

Hi everyone! congrats to all who got into the program, I got in as well and am submitting my deposit for the program this weekend! I had just wanted to see on here if there was anyone who has already started looking at housing options for the Spring since in the welcome email the coordinator of the program indicated we would be starting clinicals our first semester!

I have! Try joining fb groups housing now especially the USF one!  Also, when you submit your deeposit, can you let me know if you get a confirmation email saying that you secured your spot?
