University of San Francisco BSN Spring 2021

Published

Hello I didn't see any articles relating to USFCA's BSN program Sp 21 so I decided to make one myself. I applied for the Fall 2020 program but got an offer for Spring 2021 instead. I was wondering if anyone else is planning to apply/got offered an admission/ already attending USF for nursing. I would love to get acquainted with my future cohort/ current nursing students at USF.

No and I find it kind of strange.. First they sent some vague message about being waitlisted and didn't give out a number. Now they're taking until the last possible second to communicate. It makes me question their organization/communication skills as a program tbh. Maybe we are benefiting from not hearing back

I mean they did say the 10th so I’m not surprised. I’d rather them wait and be sure before giving us news. They also have to wait for the people who declined/accepted to make their decisions. I read somewhere that they had til the 8th to decline/accept, so it’s going to take them a few days to figure that out. As long as they don’t delay it past the 10th I wouldn’t think too much of it!

I guess we’ll see. They said they would get back to us by the 10th latest. And I’m sure people have been accepting or rejecting their offers before the deadline. It’s just kind of frustrating that they are not transparent with their communication

No yeah I understand your frustration. At this point I’m happy they’re getting back to us in a little over a month in comparison to waiting months to hear back from SMU. I also think with the semester being online and clinical placements and what not that they’re stressed because they have a lot to figure out. I’m thinking we will hear back either late today or tomorrow. We will know by tomorrow which is exciting despite having to wait!

The SMU situation was really awful, worse than this. It kind of caused me to loose my patience with these programs in general. (sorry if my original response sounded a bit harsh or aggressive). I'm just so done with constantly being put off and deadlines being extended, etc. Especially with SMU I felt they did not do their best to communicate with us. I hope that if we don't hear from USF by tomorrow night they at least have the decency to email us and let us know why ?

Yeah that whole thing with SMU made me lose my patience too! It’s funny because they were where I wanted to go and after that whole thing I was so irritated with them ? & No it didn’t, you’re fine! I understand your frustration because after SMU we have very minimal patience LOL. I’m tired of stuff being pushed back too, like our future is literally at stake ? I’m sure they’ll get back to us and if not then they’ll email us! I think they’re more organized than SMU (hopefully). I hope we both get in!

YES! haha I relate. SMU was my top and after everything that happened I would not jump at the opportunity if they were to offer me a spot for next fall. I would have to take time to actually think about it. The lack of communication/organization coupled with not getting any actual advice from the counselor really left a bad taste in my mouth. I emailed to ask for any sort of feedback from my Spring app and all I was told is to make sure I meet the minimum requirements and to apply again. If I didn't meet the minimum requirements how would I have applied the first time around?? LOL Yeah USF hasn't made it to that level bad yet.

For accepted students we had until last night (the 8th) at 11:59pm to accept/decline our admission so I wouldn’t worry too much about it. They really spammed me down til the last minute to make sure if I was going or not. I don’t really think that it has any thing to do with organisation as a program. I just think that they just need time now til the 10th to see who is in the next round of acceptances. I know the process is stressful but it’s really patience. Think about how everyone’s working remote and with the lockdown and now stay at home order, it’s not really anyone’s fault. Every place I applied to gave super late admissions decisions and it’s just the way it goes now. I was waitlisted from Dominican and I still have yet to hear from them, and CSULB and CSUCI were also late in giving me my decision.

Yeah the whole thing was draining! I was so over it by the end ? That response was not helpful at all, of course you met the minimum requirements otherwise you wouldn’t have applied ? Hoping for the best for us today!!
