University of San Francisco BSN Spring 2021

Published

Hello I didn't see any articles relating to USFCA's BSN program Sp 21 so I decided to make one myself. I applied for the Fall 2020 program but got an offer for Spring 2021 instead. I was wondering if anyone else is planning to apply/got offered an admission/ already attending USF for nursing. I would love to get acquainted with my future cohort/ current nursing students at USF.

This is my first application cycle ever! I just finished all pre req requirements last semester so I am so nervous! I am checking my E-mail every minute it seems like!

Same! I just finished all my stuff at DVC and am very nervous too! I can’t stop checking either, it’s a problem LOL

Are you guys leaning towards accepting if an offer comes your way?

I am alternate #11 for Stanislaus state so I am waiting to see if I make it into that cohort, If USF offers I will accept. I also applied for SMU for Fall 2021 but those decisions won't go out until April or so so I am crossing my fingers for USF! I was rejected from SF state and Sac state unfortunately!

Congrats on making it on the waitlist! Did they give you a date where they’d get back to you? #11 is not bad! For SMU for Spring they went through a lot of people, more than I expected. A lot of people are changing their plans. I’m not sure what your money situation is, but if you commit to USF and then get off the list at state, I would personally take Stanislaus. I’m having a hard time accepting the 150k price tag (and that doesn’t include housing or books/materials).

Thank you! and no they will just notify the alternate list as space becomes available and they continue to pull off of the alternate list until the end of the first week of class which is like Jan 26th or something like that! So I have until then to be pulled off of the alternate list! LOL And yeah if I get accepted at USF I will accept and then if Stanislaus contacts me I will probably go there because it is much cheaper! If I have no choice but to go to USF then im going to bite the bullet even though it is more expensive LOL I just want to get in somewhere and get started honestly! Were you accepted anywhere else?

I totally feel the need to start ASAP. It’s just really hard for me to justify in my head taking out all those loans for their program when there’s nothing that really sets them apart from other programs (except the religious aspect). The pandemic has changed the job market into the forseeable future. I have a lot of friends that are new grad nurses that are unable to find any positions and went to expensive schools like USF that are freaking out. Debt is never good and I’m not sure if USF is worth the investment TBH. Because of this I am leaning towards rejecting if they send me an offer. I reapplied to SMU for fall 21 so I have that to lean back on. I would rather I graduate with little to no debt and for it to take longer, than go with the more expensive option. I don’t want all of my paychecks going towards student loans:(

I feel you! I may actually be moving out of state after graduating so I am hoping that I will have good chances with employment!

Look into out of state schools! I’m looking at the CSU’s and some community colleges too. If you’re gonna end up going out of state anyways the investment of USF may not be worth it long term.

I am leaning towards accepting just because I wanna start! I am thankful that I normally get a decent amount of financial aid, plus usf has lots of scholarships & ways to pay for school. I hope something works out for all of us waitlisters, whether that means going to usf or not!

I e mailed my assigned counselor earlier this week asking if there was a waitlist ranking and he just e mailed me back saying we should be hearing sometime this week about decisions. I’m like uh no they said by today at the latest. So I hope they don’t delay the decisions
