Just trying to find others out there that applied to university of Rochester's ABPNN for September 2020 start! Anyone have their interview scheduled?? Done with their interview?

I was asked why nursing, tell me something about u thats not on resume, why u of r, how do you stay stimulated intellectualy, and I asked her 3 questions...it lasted 21 minutes. no awkward pauses and I made her laugh at the end about corona..

the thing about interviews is that they can go so well and you never know

did your interviewer write notes? does anyone know how many people they interview

Glad to hear it! I think my interviewer took notes too. But her screen was off so I couldn’t see her. I do not know how many people are interviewed

thank you! this waiting game is gonna kill me...must apply to other schools to kill time and add to my cushion LOL.

thank you!! good luck..you will do great. surprinsingly the zoom was super casual and I'm glad I changed my mind last minute to video.

Yeah, I thought about switching to video today. I'm going to be able to get off work early so I should be fine. I just wish all of this would be over with. You still have nutrition to take right? Trying to remember and not look through the entire thread.

you should! whatever is most comfortable with you. yeah thats the only class! I'm gonna take it thorugh portage or them

Hello - I have my interview Friday 3/27 at 5 pm - very nervous! *fingers crossed*

I plan to ask how cancellation of the May 2020 Cohort will affect the Fall Cohort.

Also, I applied the Utica College and will be finding out sometime this week if I am accepted there. Really want U of R though!

Hey! My interview is Thursday 5pm. I'm super nervous. What do you like about UoR? Are you from NY? I reside in Michigan. Good question because I want to know that as well. That's one of my questions I was going to ask.

Good luck!! Let us know what they say about the may cohort affecting the fall! My interview was before all this craziness started so I didn’t even know this would be a question I would have!

A friend of mine who works at the medical center and is working up on finishing her RN to BSN said an email went out stating they are offering the May cohort the choice of starting in the Fall or January 2021. The email also said they are contemplating increasing the Fall class size.

This is purely my speculation - to me that translates to less spots for Fall applicants since one would assume the May students would want to start ASAP so Fall will fill up with them first. Then any left over Fall applicants would probably be bumped to January 2021.

I really am uneasy about this because wouldnt that mean those who applied for the fall cohort have higher odds against them cause they will only pick the best of the best since its from a smaller pool?

I would assume the students who have already been offered and accepted their May start would get first dibs on Fall spots. Then any spots left would be offered to the top Fall candidates with the rest of the accepted Fall candidates get bumped to a January start date. Again, purely my speculation.
