Just trying to find others out there that applied to university of Rochester's ABPNN for September 2020 start! Anyone have their interview scheduled?? Done with their interview?

I would assume the students who have already been offered and accepted their May start would get first dibs on Fall spots. Then any spots left would be offered to the top Fall candidates with the rest of the accepted Fall candidates get bumped to a January start date. Again, purely my speculation.

true! also noticed your reluctance with utica. have a friend who currently is in the program and she hates it a lot but she is pushing through. she said they take all your money and the professors dont offer any support. yes absns are all on the student but the fact that there are programs that offer academic resources make a diff. she said the teachers dont want to see them win

Yep, everyone I have reached out about the program says you are teaching yourself. Earlier today I received an email stating I was accepted. I wish I was more excited about it but it's hard to be when I know it's not going to be a great learning experience in addition to the 1.5 hour commute 3 to 4 times a week for 16 months. I am up against a wall though in terms of my options since my pre-reqs are getting old. Basically it's now or never for me! Please God let U of R come through!! LOL

I really am uneasy about this because wouldnt that mean those who applied for the fall cohort have higher odds against them cause they will only pick the best of the best since its from a smaller pool?

I will find out on Thursday when I have my interview. I will ask questions in regard to this issue and hopefully be able to have a close to definite answer for everyone.

FYI - this is from their website:

Is the size of the fall 2020 cohort going to be increased to accommodate student deferrals from the Summer cohort?

Yes, the size of our cohort will increase for the fall 2020 semester, and admissions decisions will still be processed for those who met the fall 2020 deadline. Our goal is to have those decisions out to those who met the deadline by mid-May.

Oooh, thank you! Guess I won't ask that questions. Don't want them to think I don't pay attention to the website LOL. That'll be different than previous cohorts seeing the fall cohort could double in size as I'm assuming most will want to start in the fall as opposed to Spring. I wish all schools sent out letters around the same time because it sucks to put a deposit down then you get accepted to a school you wanted. Now if it's a refundable deposit, that's different.

how did your interview go?!

Hey guys. Just updating everyone. I got an email today for an interview. I know you guys may have already talked about this but can anyone who has gotten accepted tell me what questions were asked during the interview and how the general flow of the interview went ?

Thanks a lot and stay safe everyone.

It went good (I think). This was my first interview. She skipped a lot of questions that she would normally ask because she said they're pretty obvious like what experience do I have, why nursing, etc. Lasted about 25-30min.

Nobody on this thread has gotten an acceptance or denial yet. I believe all of us have just submitted our application, scheduled our interview, and had the interview with the last persons being this past Friday. The two main questions I'm almost certain you'll be asked is 1.) Why UoR? 2.) Why nursing? They may ask you to talk about your experiences and/or resume. Depending on who you interview with, you may be asked behavioral question where they will ask you to talk about a time when...and you will have to provide them with a response. Honestly, you don't know what they will throw at you. I prepared based off of previous questions others said they were asked and only two were asked during my interview which lasted 25-30min.

Hey, thank you so much. I just got off work so I read through all the post by other users; very helpful and informative.

I got the email for an interview while at work so I had this tingling feeling of happiness inside LOL. I'm nervous because who knows, sometimes they already know what they are looking for before they interview you.

I am just going to pray that it goes well and try my best to prepare as best as I can for the interview.

I second everything Shayla said. Good luck!

Also, my interview will be with ------------------------. Has anyone else interviewed with her? If so can you give me an idea of how your conversation with her went? Thank you!
