Hey Meredith! Thanks for posting. CONGRATS on nearing graduation! Just curious, did you work during school? I am wondering how to even budget for an apartment! I will share your post with other accepted students, too.

Hi! Thank you so much. There is around 10-15 people in my cohort that worked during the entire program. I wish I decided to get a job during the program. It is 100% do-able to work and succeed in the program. Thank you so much for sharing my post with other accepted students! Congratulations on your acceptance! Even if you have to do some online work, they are very accommodating.

Hi Everyone!! My name is Meredith and I am currently a third semester student at the school of nursing. I hope you all are hearing back soon with yes’! I will be staying in the Rochester area and will be working at strong. I will have an open room in my apartment by the end of August and am looking for a female roommate. I live 7 mins away from the school. The bus line also has a stop at the apartment complex as well.

Hi! Thanks for sharing. Will def share the info. Is it in white coat? I had some questions if you didn’t mind answering. How are the tests? Are they mainly multiple choice like what is the format and did you do your first semester? Do you feel it was non stop jam packed with no time to breath? Also which private loan lender did you use? Hopefully not sallie LOL. Lastly, is it possible to request my clinicals only be done at strong? Thank you and good luck on the rest of the semester.

Hi! I'm not sure what you mean by white coat but as for the classes and exams, each exam is set up in the same format as the NCLEX. You will have regular MC and then multiple-multiple questions. Every class has this still format for each exam. There will be times where you just feel completely overwhelmed but there is other times when you feel like you have nothing to do. This is an accelerated program so it is to be expected times where you feel overwhelmed. My biggest advice is to be on top of everything. I have never used a planner before this program and now that planner is my life. As for loans, I searched up loan sites and was able to find one on credible. I am not 100% sure if you can request which clinical site you get but you can always email the clinical coordinator when that times comes and express your concerns. Hopefully this helps!! ?

Is anyone reapplying for Winter Start? If so, are you going to resubmit your current app or make any changes? I’ve been contemplating this whole time what to do or to just resubmit what I already had. Between May when we got our acceptances/denials and July 1st, there’s very little one can do in terms of making themselves more competitive. I thought about more letters of rec but with covid and such a short notice, I decided against it. Now I’m wondering whether to change my resume and PS.

tbh, I’m also wondering if they’ll be a January start given that another surge is expected. I was told it’s planned, but there’s no guarantee that it could not happen or that Fall will start in fall rather than being pushed to January.

HOLY MOTHER OF PEARL. I GOT ACCEPTED. MY HANDS ARE SHAKING. I CANT BELIEVE IT.

Guys, I want to emphasize to you that you have to trust the purpose and only have positive thoughts. My cGPA is under a 3.0 I got rejected from Pace, Drexel, Dusquense, and waitlisted at GWU. I was losing all hope. Rochester was my top school. I thought I had no chance.

but I got in

Hi there! I know it’s been a while since acceptances, but first I just wanted to say congratulations! I know that you’ll learn so much from this school and the start date is creeping by soon!

I was curious if there’s a specific part in your application that you felt like you had a strongpoint? Whether it was LORs, personal statement or interview? I’m contemplating what to change on my app or if to make any changes at all and just hope to do good on the interview. I feel pretty happy with my statement, but at the same time I don’t know what to change considering two months doesn’t allow for big changes in terms of experience or classes.

thanks and if you have any questions, I know someone in the program that can maybe help you put!

Hey guys,

Just an update, I emailed Rochester yesterday and received a response today. They have already taken some students off the waitlist, and as a result they are going to close the waitlist in the middle of July.

So I’m assuming they won’t be able to take anyone off the waitlist anymore.

Hii!! Thank you so much, that is so sweet of you. Have you decided if you are going to Pace?

So I didn't have the best grades, so I said to myself I need to be extremely strong in all other aspects. My personal statement was very passionate and I specifically stated why I want to be a nurse and what exactly I want to address when I become one. My letters were from a NP and my job supervisor. Honestly they put their blood sweat and tears into my letter and I honestly think they were my saving grace. For my interview and most, they ask tell me something about you thats not on your app? This is the time to be VERY unique and say something memorable. Kid you not really think about this. If you are reapplying, fix your PS and make sure the people writing your LOR reallllllyyyy care for you so it shows.

I was shocked and still shocked I got in but I KNOW you can next semester

Congratulations! Have you got any scholarship?

I just got offered an interview! I applied for May 2021 I'm excited but always scared because I am from NYC and moving 5 hours away for three years is a bit nerve wrecking since I just came back from being upstate for almost four years for undergrad. If anyone has any tips on how to finance the program and any interview tips. It would be very helpful.
