My sibling is in the program currently. The admissions office changed so they accidentally sent out more acceptances than they were supposed to for fall 2019. They didn’t expect everyone to say yes so they had to accept the larger cohort.

its hard obviously but it’s a great program. Whenever I visited the school looked great and my sibling has learned so much.

I'm just upset because I never saw this big of waitlist before so I don’t understand their reasoning for this. I got into schools I didn’t think I could get into, but this was my first choice since I have a feel for what the school is like. However I’m not ready to move to Chicago right now without support, and with the lack of work from covid. Rochester would have been perfect since it’s not so busy and I’d have housing ready for me.

Good luck to everyone! I’ll update on what the school says when I call tomorrow.

maybe the waitlist is big this year because of all the people who were supposed to start in May are now starting now. sending you good vibes and well wishes. also its really awesome you got into a school you are in a good place. just say you will get in and you will. sounds crazy but it works. u got this.

Thanks for your support. It truly means everything. Slowly I’ll come to terms with this and everything happens for a reason

Hey everyone I got accepted as well my stats were actually not the best. I have aN overall GPA of a 2.99. Got rejected from Pace, Mount Saint Vincent, mercy college, and stony brook. I haven't heard back from NYU so I’m assuming I didn’t get in. I can definitely say that even though my GPA is not competitive at all, I tried to show my passion through my personal essay and my interview. If there’s one thing I can say for those who got rejected and waitlisted is to keep the passion and keep hoping because there’s so many programs out there and even if you get denied from this one there’s other programs awaiting for you to apply and this is all I kept telling myself throughout the whole process. I wish all of you the best in your journeys and don’t give up.

CONGRATS! it doesnt feel real. got rejected from pace + stony too haha..I am waiting to hear from mercy college. when did you hear from them and was it via email or the portal? and was it from paul?

So I received this info via email this morning:

"we received nearly 400 applications for this enrollment term, which led to highly qualified applicants not being able to receive an offer of admission. For this enrollment term we have about 80 students who have been placed on the waitlist and we will begin pulling students from our waitlist as seats become available. We will reach out to students who confirm their interest in remaining on the waitlist as seats become available. I expect to be able to give a more accurate update in the next 3 weeks."

That is one hell of a waitlist ?

Wowza, so many of us are waitlisted. @CAllen15 did you reach out to them and they sent that to you or did they just automatically send that out?

I also spoke with them. All they said is we can waitlist or defer our app to January start. However, they also said that we cannot stay on the waitlist and apply to January, but I still have to confirm with one more person.

I'm honestly losing hope on thisnwaitlist. One person got in three days before the start so now it’s like gambling

I reached out to inquire my position the waitlist and how it's determined - I wanted a specific number as in am I near the top of this list of 80 or the bottom but I was not given that.

3 days before the start - that's nuts! I was accepted to a different program (though U of R is my #1 choice) and cannot wait that long so if I hear nothing within the next 3 weeks then I have to go with the other school.

CONGRATS on having an acceptance though! I know it’s not your #1 but at least it’s an option!

Thank you - it's just a bit scary because I have read nothing but poor reviews on the program (Utica College) but like you said, it's an option!

I sent out an email with some pretty specific questions, so when they respond I will let you all know if I’m given any new information.

Good morning,

Admissions said they take approximately 2-3 students from the waitlist each semester and they have 80 on the list ? We have to choose by July 1st if we are deferring our application for January. Unfortunately we can not remain on the waitlist and also apply for January. I am so disappointed.

Have a nice day,

Leanne
