University of Rochester fall 2020 ABPNN

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Just trying to find others out there that applied to university of Rochester's ABPNN for September 2020 start! Anyone have their interview scheduled?? Done with their interview?

Robert, I think there are still programs accepting applications for a fall 2020 start date. You should probably look into those. I’m happy that you won’t be giving up on nursing.

I’ll post to the thread once I speak to admissions tomorrow. Fingers crossed we get off the waitlist.

Also, sorry someone I was in such a rush I didn’t notice you asked about my stats.

So to be honest I’m not too sure how much Heath care hours I have.

Anatomy and physiology 1-B

Anatomy and physiology 2-C

Microbiology-B+
Statistics- B+
Nutrition-A

Also, I’m not sure what my science GPA is, anyone else mind sharing their stats ?

HOLY MOTHER OF PEARL. I GOT ACCEPTED. MY HANDS ARE SHAKING. I CANT BELIEVE IT.

Guys, I want to emphasize to you that you have to trust the purpose and only have positive thoughts. My cGPA is under a 3.0 I got rejected from Pace, , Dusquense, and waitlisted at GWU. I was losing all hope. Rochester was my top school. I thought I had no chance.

but I got in

I’m truly happy for you someone. I’m glad that you have a place you can call home for the next year. Do you mind telling us what kind of information is in the acceptance letter ? I was told that the acceptance letter would address the class size for the fall 2020 cohort.

thank you so much!! it doesnt say anything bout class size at all. congratulations. it just talks about if you are missing a pre req

Got waitlisted.

my stats are

Anatomy A

physio lecture B

physio lab B+

Micro lecture B

Micro lab A

Stats A

nutrition A

cumulative GPA 3.53

I don’t feel hopeful with this waitlist. Last fall they accidentally sent out more acceptances than normal thinking people would reject but no one did, so it backfired on them so they had to increase the size. Assuming a lot of the May cohort that got postponed will probably decide to start in Fall instead of Winter, I’m losing hope. I’m hoping is waitlist can at least get the option to start January but the email was brief and I couldn’t decipher if that’d be an option.

this was my first choice school and I sometimes feel like this is all a lottery. I got into schools I didn’t think I’d have chance, but this one hit harder.

Honestly my schooling feels like forever ago so I’m not sure on my exact stats but I got waitlisted too, as I mentioned before. I thing my GPA is around 3.2 but I have thousands of patient care and volunteer hours.

Based on the letter I wasn’t sure how the waitlist worked either. If we don’t get pulled from the list this semester then we would Have to re apply I assume? Does anyone know?

I know she said above she was going to call and get more information but wasn’t sure if anyone knew any of this off the top of their heads. Although I’m sure things might be running different with everything going on in the world with the May cohort getting pushed to fall. I feel like they wouldn’t be able to double the class size and keep the same number of seats open for us that applied for fall, but maybe I’m wrong?

I know a few people in the Fall 2019 cohort that said this. Additionally, the person who interviewed me told me they accidentally did it and this lead to a larger class size Fall 2019.

congratulations to getting in! It’s truly a great program and I wish you all the best ?

I’m definitely going to call to see. If it ends up being that they had too little seats because of May being pushed to Fall, then I’m truly going to try and be pushy to let us at least start in January. I mean, if there’s not enough seats according to the waitlist letter, we all know it’s because they decided to postpone the May cohort, and I think that’s an unfair disadvantage. Especially considering they made this decision AFTER we submitted our applications for Fall. I would have liked to have known my chances were fair, but if it’s down to us competing for 20 seats due to May being pushed vs the amount that’s actually meant for the cohort we applied then I’d be disappointed.

I understand everything is changing because of covid, but I don’t think it’s too much to ask to have waitlisted start in January. We weren’t deemed “bad” on the waitlist letter so it wouldn’t make sense. Additionally, the app for January is due July 1st and IDK how that will work if we’re on the waitlist indefinitely.

Hey everyone I got accepted as well my stats were actually not the best. I have aN overall GPA of a 2.99. Got rejected from Pace, Mount Saint Vincent, mercy college, and stony brook. I haven't heard back from NYU so I’m assuming I didn’t get in. I can definitely say that even though my GPA is not competitive at all, I tried to show my passion through my personal essay and my interview. If there’s one thing I can say for those who got rejected and waitlisted is to keep the passion and keep hoping because there’s so many programs out there and even if you get denied from this one there’s other programs awaiting for you to apply and this is all I kept telling myself throughout the whole process. I wish all of you the best in your journeys and don’t give up.

Hi everyone,

Congratulations to those accepted! I have been waitlisted too...

Leanne
