University of Rochester Accelerated Nursing Program - ABPNN

Published

I just got accepted into U of R's accelerated bachelors nursing program. Just wanted to start a thread to see who else is going there!

Last I spoke to them, Financial Aid is holding them up (they only want to send out ONE packet, with admissions/financial aid info). I was there in person to have a form signed last week and saw the stack of admission packets simply waiting for financial aid info.

Thanks for the update, SyberianPuppy. The financial aid info is certainly important. I will be patient. :)

I was told yesterday that for the master's students they are sending it out early next week.

And... Utah to Rochester indeed! It will be one crazy trip! We will miss our beautiful mountains and fluffy snow, but this is my dream! We can't wait for the change!

Packet came today!

It's quite large, and a little overwhelming. Some important points are:

1. $600 Deposit due within 10 days.

2. Physical exam due by July 1st.

3. CPR card, final transcripts if waiting on pre-reqs, and health insurance card are all due soon.

How does the financial aid look like???

There's no financial aid in the packet, only information on how to apply for it...

Wow, I can't believe everything is due so soon! I hope if we get in off the wait list we still have adequate time to get that stuff done. Maybe I should make an appointment for a physical just in case...

I'm sure they'd give you extra time. You should send a letter saying Rochester is your first choice. I'm sure they will go to the waitlist.

Also - is anyone making the "Rochester SON September 2011 Cohort" FB page??

Anyone start to think about housing? Any suggestions? Thanks!

I'm also concerned about housing-my husband and I are coming from Southern California. Does anyone know when we are expected to hear about on-campus housing? I turned in my application yesterday... Or any good websites for looking for off-campus housing?

You turned in your application or your deposit? When is your start date?

You get information on housing in your acceptance packet.

Hi Syberian Puppy,

I turned in my deposit for the Fall start date for the APNN. I got the housing information and turned in my application and fee for the on-campus housing. I'm just concerned because we are moving from so far away! I've looked through the websites provided and it seems like there are a lot of places for roommates or house sharing. We're not old but my husband and I act like an old married couple and we like our privacy! We've also been bunking with family this last year so we're really looking forward to our own place (even if it's small!).
