I just got accepted into U of R's accelerated bachelors nursing program. Just wanted to start a thread to see who else is going there!
Congratulations to everyone who got accepted!!! :)
URhopeful, I was also accepted to accelerated bachelors, and I will actually turn this option down. Thankfully I was accepted to MGH direct entry program. You can always work as RN while working on your masters part time, so maybe its worth to reapply to the DE MSN. Plus I heard it was difficult to get into masters later on. But good luck on anything that you will decide! U of R is a great school, i am sure that if you decide to have BSN completed here, it will not be a bad choice!
Good luck to everyone in this new journey! :)
Hi Nat Sta,
I spoke with ***** and she told me that all the people who got into the Masters where RN's who had a lot of experience or other people heavily involved in the nursing field. I do not think they even accepted any AMPNN students. I have decided not to attend also and will be applying to DE programs for the spring and the summer.
Syberian,
I am going to have to pass the torch to you to create the FB group since I will not be attending.
Thank you everyone for all your support. This group seems like an amazing and talented bunch. I wish you all the best and hope our paths will cross again.
Take care
Yreyes, That's good to know that they went through all their waitlisted students last semester! I feel a little better now! Syberian: my back up plan is to apply for january admissions. I am DETERMINED to get into UR. It is my dream school, and I just see myself there already! So keep your fingers crossed for me and yreyes! Hopefully we can join your facebook group soon! : )
good luck URHopeful and Nat Sta with your other programs! Maybe we can all still chat here and use each other when we need help with our classes!
URHopeful - just one thing to think about. Many hospitals will pay tuition for nurses to return to school - that's reason I'm not doing direct entry. If you get your BSN, then work for a hospital, you can get the hospital to pay for your master's at many hospitals. At UR, for example, you can take 6 classes a year for free. Paying for a DE entirely is a lot of debt!

xoxjedixox,
Hey I got waitlisted too but I was happy to be waitlisted! That means we still have a chance to go to UR. When I spoke to them last Thursday they told me that last semester they went through all of their waitlisted students, so I suppose that is good news for us. Just a little more waiting for us :)
and Congrats to all of you that got accepted!! How are you guys thinking of paying for tuition?? Like I said before, I am still torn between a Community College's RN program that is offered for 5k and UR's program that is offered for about 70K. Huuuge difference.. but I was doing some research and it looks like you can get into some Masters programs with a BA in another field and an RN license.. which is what I will have.. IDK! decisions decisions!! :/ . I just want to get my acceptance packet and review my financial aid package already! so if i can know if I can even afford to go.. I am going to research a ton of scholarships as well..
