University of Rochester Accelerated Nursing Program - ABPNN

Published

I just got accepted into U of R's accelerated bachelors nursing program. Just wanted to start a thread to see who else is going there!

got my rejection letter sunday. i seriously don't know what to do anymore.

Whoa how did you get a letter already? Did you get an interview? Would you mine posting your stats (or PMing me).

I'm so sorry. I know it's tough, do you have any backup plans?

lkjmp, I am really sorry to hear about the letter. I cannot believe you got a letter already. Did you apply to any other school? Best wshes and I hope things work out.

Syberian, I just finished my interview. Not sure how it went but it was about an hour and a half. I am keeping my fingers crossed but have no idea. She gave me a tour of the facilities, and now I am getting nervous about hearing back from them. She told me that they will let me know from mid May to June. Best of luck to everyone.

I graduated from the generic program when they had it. This is a great, very competitive school. Good luck to all that get in. I have precepted many students from the program. From what I have been told, plan to work esp hard.

URhopeful, one and a half hours!? that's a long time! I'm nervous! were there any questions besides the good old "why nursing and why U of R"?

I have never had a phone interview and i'm just super anxious, anyone has any tips on how to survive one?

Hey Nat,

I think I was only asked four questions, if that. Most of the interview was her talking about the program. She went over the courses for each semester for all three years. She gave me a tour of the nursing campus. She told a lot of stories. I was only asked the basic nursing questions. Why nursing, why u of r, how do you see yourself in 5 years, and greatest strength/weakness. Who do you have your interview with? Good luck and if you have any further questions, please ask. When is your interview?

Thank you for the information URhopeful! I will prepare myself for these questions. I received a message about the interview, and i'm calling back tomorrow to get it scheduled. Btw, how do they schedule it? i mean is it somewhat flexible as far as the date/time goes?

Thanks again!

P.S. Are you set on this university or do you have other options that you're considering?

Hi Nat,

You just have to call ******* and pick a date from the days/times she has available. You have the choice of either a phone interview or you can go in and interview in person. Normally phone interviews are more flexible. I have narrowed my list down and U of R is the only school that I am considering. If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask. What about you? Have you applied to other schools? Please let me know how the interview goes for I am sure you will kick ass. Take care and keep in touch. Best of luck.

Thanks for your encouragement URhopeful! :)

I got accepted to MGH Institute, so if anything, I'll be considering these two schools. And seriously, I have no idea which one I'll end up choosing. Are you from NY?

hey URhopeful,

I applied for the AMPNN and had an interview already too. Do you know if we should expect to have a second interview before they make decisions? The wait is killing me slowly.

Hi guys!

My name is Stephanie and I figured since I am in the middle of applying to nursing schools I might as well get on here and start talking to other prospective nurses!
