University of Rochester Accelerated Nursing Program - ABPNN

Published

I just got accepted into U of R's accelerated bachelors nursing program. Just wanted to start a thread to see who else is going there!

hey URhopeful,

I applied for the AMPNN and had an interview already too. Do you know if we should expect to have a second interview before they make decisions? The wait is killing me slowly.

Hi Skipper, Who did you interview with? I believe that there is only one interview and this interview is for both level. If you get into the Bachelors portion, then you will get into the masters. They interview you for both at once, I did not realize this until the end of the interview when I asked when the masters interview was. She went over the master's courses and onlined which course I would be taking in which semester. I think she only did this b/c I asked her about it. Hope this helps and I hope we both get in and have a chance to study together. Can you tell me a bit about yourself.? Which speciality? Profile stats? You can PM me if you like. Best of luck and she said we will find out starting mid May throughout June.

Hi Stephanie, If you have any questions, please feel free to ask?

Hi Nat, Congrats on MGH. Please let me know how your interviews goes. Who did you schedule it with? Hope you decided on UR and we end up being classmates. Best of luck and please give me a Kudo. I have not had one yet LOL.

UrHopeful - kudos! :)

Also - the wait is making me so nervous. Rochester is my top and only choice (I only applied there) so if I don't get in I don't know what I'll do!

Thanks Syberian,

I hear ya on the wait. I decided on just U of R also. Only choice here and I decided if I do not get in to U of R, that I will work for a year and go from there. I cannot believe that they only interviewed 200 people. I would hate to be the person who had to decided on who to interview. I will cross my fingers for all of us online here.

Only interviewed 200?? Where did you get that information?

URhopeful,

thanks for the info. I'm 22 and a Rochester native. i'm graduating in a couple of weeks from UR undergrad majoring in both Psychology and Public Health. major gpa 3.85, overall 3.5 and prereqs 4.0 I've worked for a bit at Strong on trauma/gen surgery. I've studied overseas a little bit (infectious disease and women's mental health). I applied for the FNP and interviewed with a woman who teaches for both the bachelor and the masters program. I only applied here because its the only school I want to go to so I hope it works out. I know its really competitive though so I guess I will just keep applying until they eventually accept me!

hi skipper,

I think we interviewed with the same lady. Did you interview on Thursday? 10am? Yeah, that is the only interview we have. You have extremely impressive profile and I think you will be a shoe in. Best of luck.

Only interviewed 200?? Where did you get that information?

The lady I interviewed with told me that they narrowed the interviews down to 200 and that they are going to accept 60. The stats seem to increase our chances. Best of luck and keep in touch

thanks for the confidence! My interview was on Thursday at 9am. when was yours? ahhh I hope we both get it!

Mine was the same day at 11am. Are you male? The people at the admissions office where talking about a guy who had interviewed before me. I think you left quite the impression.

haha unfortunately not me. I am female. but i think that there was a male interviewing before me.
