I just got accepted into U of R's accelerated bachelors nursing program. Just wanted to start a thread to see who else is going there!
Hi everyone,
I applied for the AMPNN program for the Family NP route. I'm debating between FNP and ACNP and am hoping that switching might be a possibility if I get accepted. I like a few of you turned in the application a couple of days before Nov 1st, and everything was indicated as received a week later. On Tuesday, I called admissions to inquire about when interviews were scheduled and when we would get accepted, waitlisted, or denied. The lady told me that usually letters can go out as soon as December (if you're an exceptional candidate) and as late as February. She asked me if I applied for the May cohort, in which I responded yes, so she pulled up my file. Seeing that it was complete, she schedule me for my first interview for next week via phone call as I'm from CA. So, my suggestion is if you're anxious about an interview and haven't pestered the admissions office before, give them a call. They're really nice and ready to help. If anyone can offer some advice for the interview that would be fantastic. Hope that helps!

Not sure, I'm super nervous! You apply to ABPNN or AMPNN? I'm from CA, so this would be a super far move. Also, I'm from Palm Desert, CA...the avg temp during summer is 118 degrees, during winter, 70. It would be a huge change!
I applied ABPNN, and you?
Ha! I'm from Houston, TX, and haven't ever seen snow before in my life... I wonder what it'll be like if I went there
ABPNN here too! I don't even have winter clothes. My aunt lives up there though, so that is a plus. Free rent for a while would definitely be nice. I would need to find some roommates, and I'm not sure how big the male population is in the nursing program up there!Btw, did you apply to any other schools other than UR?
Well, that's really nice! The only relatives I have in New York happen to live in Queens, which is on the other side of the state. So they wouldn't be of much help lol. I hope the housing market isn't too expensive to rent up there. Since I'm a guy also, maybe if we both get in and decide to attend Rochester, I just might hit you up on subleasing a house or something. We'll see.
To be honest, this was the only Accelerated BSN program I applied to. There was an accelerated MSN program here in Texas, the only one in the state that was available, which was UT-Austin's AE MSN program. I applied there.
What about you?

Hi Jevell-
First of all, congrats on being accepted! I myself am in the process of applying to the adult psychiatric NP AMPNN program, and I just scheduled my 1st of 2 phone interviews with Rochester for early December. I was wondering since you've already been down this road if you wouldn't mind sharing your wisdom and some possible tips with me regarding the interview process. This will be my 1st interview so I'm very nervous! Congratulations again - maybe we'll be working together soon =)
