I just got accepted into U of R's accelerated bachelors nursing program. Just wanted to start a thread to see who else is going there!
Just had my [phone] interview for the May 2011 cohort Accelerated MSN track (psych/mental health specialty) - technically it was the 1st interview and the woman I scheduled the interview with last month had mentioned 2, the 1st to ensure readiness for the undergrad portion and the 2nd to ensure readiness for the grad portion. It went great! The woman who called was very nice and informative. She only asked me two questions - why nursing, and why an accelerated program. Other than that, she gave me a lot of info about how the program is structured and gave me a chance to ask her any questions I had, which were mostly abut research since that's where my background is. She did not mention a 2nd interview but said Rochester will make their final decisions by February at the latest. I hope you guys find this info helpful!
Hey Jane,I'm in for the January class. I'm so excited! I was looking at the house at 44 Irvington, but I haven't decided for sure yet. What about you?
Have any of you considered living or are living @ Goler House...the apartment building adjacent to the Hospital? I was recently awarded housing there and wanted to know what you think or your experiences. Thanks

No, I forgot to send in my housing inquiry form. I ended up renting a room at 44 Irvington. I just looked up Goler House and it looks pretty nice.
Wow, I have read that in the past the classes have been up to 100 or so people. Why the small number I wonder?
When I had my interview, the woman I spoke with explained that they shrunk the class sizes but have upped the number of cohorts to 3. I believe they will now have programs starting in summer, fall and spring.

Obiobio - you are exactly right! So, they have actually increased the number of spots from ~100 to ~150 for the year.

Actually from what it sounded like, they have the exact same number of spots. They used to take about 100 in the summer and half that in the Spring, now the 3 cohorts are divided evenly. The interviewer told me that the reason for this was to free up space in the clinical rotations.
