University of Rochester ABPNN MAY 2019

Published

Hey everyone!

I recently applied to UOR ABPNN for May of '19. I had my interview on October 9th. I am waiting for a response from admissions but have not heard anything back yet. I read online from their FAQ ~12 weeks you will receive an admission. I have read previous posts and saw people were getting their decision in February and so fourth.

Has anyone else applied to this program and heard anything back yet?

Yeah I got that email too about the application being submitted, crossing my fingers, hope its a good sign!

I think something may have glitched. I originally applied to the AMPNN program for adult gerontology. I followed the emails instructions and it shown that it was changed to family psych mental health.

Does anyone know Nancy Kita's email address?

@ cdh . I was thinking of applying to Molloy College as well. Do you mind saying your stats? One of my prerequisite grades was not good and I had to retake it and I read on their website they don't accpect students that had to retake too many classes, it discourgaed me from applying.

What made you choose U of R over Molloy?

If you search her name on U of R SON page it will provide a clickable link to email her. I try not to post email addresses on boards unless it's my own. Hope this helps.

What made you choose U of R over Molloy?

My pre-req GPA was a 4.0 and my Bachelors GPA was a 3.4.

I chose U of R b/c of a generous scholarship ($15k) (even though Molloy's tuition is slightly cheaper than the average private college) and the speed of the program of 12 months. Molloy's 2nd degree program isn't really an 'accelerated'. You take nursing courses at the average pace just like everyone else, except you skip the elective courses. So, it takes 2 years to graduate. Also, they asked for organic chemistry or biochem which i didn't have, so that would've been 2.5 years for me.

Overall, Molloy is a great school with a very high retention rate and nclex pass rate. If you would like to work in the top NYC hospitals (New york presbyterian, NYU, Mount sinai, memorial sloan kettering cancer center, etc), Molloy is a well-known school many recruiters recruit new grads from.

Also, Molloy's admissions office was very helpful. If you have ANY questions/doubts, give their office a call and they would gladly help you out including a tour or speaking with an admissions officer. Also keep in mind Molloy has 2 campuses which classes are located in (Rockville center, their main campus, and one in Farmingdale, which is an 1 hr+ drive from Molloy).

Hey..I interviewed last week for this program. Anyone heard anything yet?

I'm happy allnurses is back and running! Looking at previous cohort forums, it looks like we won't be hearing back until Feb 4th? Ugh, the wait is killing me!

Hi everyone!

I also applied to University of Rochester for May '19. I am currently waiting to have my interview next Thursday, Jan 31st, at 3:00 PM. I wanted to ask you guys how you prepared for your interview, how did your interview go, and what questions should I expect to be asked on the interview. Any advice would help, thank you!
