Nursing Students School Programs

Hello everyone! I did not see a thread for this start date, so I decided to start one!

I recently applied and have my interview Wednesday November 11th. I'm pretty excited and can't wait for the interview!

How is everyone else doing with the application process?

I asked Nancy about getting a possible interview for the Master's portion and she says that I am only being reviewed for the Acc-BSN :(. Does anyone know if attending Rochester will increase my chances at being admitted to the Master's portion of the program?

I'm pretty sure that if you do well in the BSN portion you'll get into the Master's program.

does anyone receive invitation for the 2nd interview (Master's portion) after 1st interview? I read the posts but I am kinda confused. Thanks!!

Jenny Wong, I believe you would have had to apply to the masters program and the process for that is ABSN interview -> Masters portion interview. I have heard, this may not be correct though, that they do invite some qualified applicants who only applied for the ABSN portion to complete a masters interview, but they do not do this for all applicants.

Yes, I did apply for AMPNN, but I havn't heard anything since I had my first interview in November so I am just wondering if anyone received calls for their 2nd interviews, the master portion. Thanks!

I would email Nancy if you are curious about your status. I emailed her last week and received an immediate response stating that I am only being considered for the absn portion. Which is unfortunate but I would be happy either way because I can apply straight into the masters portion after the completion of absn.

Yea I e-mailed her last week but she didn't respond :( Well I will just continue to wait... but thank you for replying!

Jenny Wong, just so you know I have talked to a few of my friends who have BSN degrees and they have told me their employers prefer their nurses to go through the BSN program and THEN get their masters so they have more experience. There are mixed opinions on that, but doing the BSN first wouldn't be terrible! Good luck :)

Thanks fo the reply :)) I guess I am not feeling terrible if I have to do BSN; it is the wait that is torturing lol, and I just want to know if I still have change for MSN

I completely agree! I can't wait until we hear back regarding admissions decisions :)

did u apply for bsn or msn?

I applied for BSN- I didn't take the GRE so I didn't apply to any masters entry programs.
