University of Rochester ABPNN May 2016

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello everyone! I did not see a thread for this start date, so I decided to start one!

I recently applied and have my interview Wednesday November 11th. I'm pretty excited and can't wait for the interview!

How is everyone else doing with the application process?

Have you all joined the facebook page that was made for the accepted students yet? I think its Universtiy of Rochester ABPNN May 2016?

Hey Everyone,

I'm graduating this May from the University of Rochester, ask me anything about the program.

There are some questions that I wished I had asked Elaine/Nancy and my interviewer like the clinical instructor to student ratio and how accommodating the school is to the students who may be having personal issues.

I recommend that you ask every program you apply to, ask what they think some weaknesses of the programs are and what their strengths are. I highly recommend you ask the recent NCLEX pass rate, and the percentage of students passing the courses.

Do you mind emailing me? I start this May and those are definitely interesting questions I have not thought about yet sound very interesting and since I have no experience in the program as of yet I wouldn't know how to navigate which questions to irk or even wish I asked haha.

Yeah, I'll send you a PM on allnurses.com now.

For me, I chose UR for the clinical hours, because I believed hands on skills and practice was the most important. What I neglected to ask was the clinical instructor to student ratio, 1:7~8. I wish I had asked the other programs I got accepted into, what their ratio was.

I can't seem to be able to PM you, you can PM me instead if you like.

I sent you a message already. Sometimes these notifications don't come in

Sorry to go back and forth, I tried PMing you back but they said I needed to post more in order to use it! I sent you an e-mail to your edu. :)

I have a couple of questions about the program as well. Can you please email me [email protected]

Hey! A huge congrats to everyone that got accepted into and will be starting the May 2016 cohort! I am a student in the SON and I am looking for someone to take over my room in the White Coat Ghetto (available starting 5/15/16). The location is super convenient for class and early clinical days with College Town in the area! If anyone still needs housing, please contact me at [email protected] and I can give you more information.

Hello, I do not mean to pester or bother you in any way, but I am working on my application for Rochester and I am terrified. U of Rochester SON is my dream school. I have a 3.67 in my undergraduate degree but only a 3.2 in my pre-recs. Have you seen anyone get in with that low of a GPA in pre recs? Do I even have a shot? Thank you.
