University of Rochester ABPNN May 2015

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

Hey everyone !

I applied for the May 2015 ABPNN program and already had my phone interview. I just wanted to post a thread for whoever else is applying for this cycle. If you'd like to share your statistics, information about Rochester, how your interview went feel free! Good luck to everyone!

😕 still nothing for me. Did anyone else apply for psych?

I applied for AMPNN psych but they accepted me for ABPNN

Did they do an interview for AMPNN for you? Or just the first one?

No. They did not interview me for AMPNN.

You might know more about ABPNN... let me ask you this

this ABPNN will give you BSN degree ?

after this course, can you do MSN (NP) any other college like usual candidate ?

My understanding is that you can apply to MSN/NP programs after receiving your BSN. I figure those programs, unlike direct-entry BSN/MSNs, want a certain amount of RN work from applicants. Unless the school is like Rochester and has the potential for an easy transition into an NP program.

:) Congratulations snoozyd...I have to ask...is that a picture of a wombat you are using lol?

I haven't earned any congratulations yet, Martha, but hopefully soon I will 😉 It's a tarsier. Much smaller and more frantic than a wombat. I think his stressed out expression matches the tone of my posts about school.

OK so basically. I finish BSN here then work as RN before I apply for MSN. But this ABPNN is BSN, correct ? As they only allow u to sit for nclex RN but they did not specify about any BSN certification or so

I also seen in ur profile Snooyd. .. u work in research area. I am working in research field also n planning to make career in that so now making base

I'd check out some schools' requirements for MSN applicants. If you find a few programs you like, there's probably even posts about it on this site. I'm sure AllNurses would have more insight than me since my focus is on the direct entry master's. Research is definitely a big part of my overall career goals. The flexibility of the NP in patient care and research is one of the reasons I'm interested in this program. Rochester's actually got some good stuff in implementation of new findings...at least, they make it sound like they do.

yep.. same here .. going forward with some open options after BSN, after NP... by the way... if anyone got accepted and want to discuss living options at Rochester... feel free to contact me on jaykay08043 @ gmail .... i am currently in NJ, once i will get final fix then i will start looking something into that..
