University of Rochester ABPNN Jan. 2016

Hello!

I've been looking at allnurses to see if anyone had started a thread for the U of R January 2016 ABPNN program yet but I have not seen one. I figured I'd go ahead and begin. While they are still accepting applications until July 1st, I got everything in early and just had my interview this morning. I think it went well but I won't really know until they make their decision (the faculty member said I probably won't hear anything until mid-September). Anyone else applying for this cohort?

I really hope you are right! I also applied right before the deadline and had an interview with in a month.... Lol hopefully they just really like us

I am so thankful I found this thread. I applied back in June (for the January ABPNN 2016) and had my interview soon after. My interviewer said mid-September I should receive notification. I've been checking my mailbox daily and still no letter. I have been feeling pretty bummed out. Today I decided to google and found this thread and now my hopes are up. Good luck to everyone! :) And thank you for the updates on when we will be notified.

Did they also tell you that it would be a letter?

Yes, they specifically said it would be a letter. I can't believe that it is still via letter. It must be because of tradition-which I can appreciate. However, it is difficult to appreciate in this moment of anticipation.

The Struggle is so real right now, I have literally log in EVERY DAY to see if maybe someone has received a reply..... the wait is killing me

I do the same! I just want to know how and when we'll find out for sure. Letter? Call? This week? 3 more weeks? I can't stand the uncertainty!! I'm so tempted to call them but I'm refraining so far.

I am in a similar position (and an international applicant so have visa implications). I pinged an email (again) today to

see if there is any news. But it seems that we were all told in our interviews end September/early October. I am holding onto

the fact that I was interviewed as a positive. I am sure they get lots of people who withdraw etc so they must surely have a

waiting list of sorts (to ensure they have a complete cohort). I think that's the reason they are still interviewing.

If anybody hears - please do let us know - we are all in the same (uncertain) boat!

mitchellci, let us know what they say when/if they email you back. I can only imagine how hard the wait must be if you're moving for the program. I live in Rochester and I'm losing my mind! I'm trying to hold out until the 6th. If I don't hear anything by then, I'm calling.

I called last week and Nancy specifically said she would be calling admitted students by mid-October.
