Sorta surprised that there is no post for this current application for Pitt, especially since the application deadline is a month away. Decided to make this thread for people looking to discuss the application process.
Anyone applying to Pitt? I made a last minute decision to apply just a few days ago, so I'm trying to get all of my things in order to submit on time, haha.
@Living2Learn thank you!! I’m very excited! This will be the last round of interviews and I believe they selected 20 to interview for this round!
Yeah! My interview was 5/26 and the wait has been torture, haha. I spoke to one of the members on the admission committee the day after the 6/9 interviews and they mentioned that decisions should be going out very quickly after this final interview. We can still expect to hear back by June 30 as the website states.

Good to know. I’ve been busy, so there hasn’t been much time to dwell on it. Felt good about the actual interview itself for what it’s worth. How did you feel afterwards?

I mean, I also felt very good about it. I know they use a pretty objective point system & the interview is simply a component in that system in which all the interviewers score you, then average it and add it to your composite score based on all the other application factors.
I feel relatively good about the fact that I was in the first group contacted to be interviewed, but a little uneasy that they chose to have 2 additional sessions haha. Makes me think that either the application pool was smaller or not as strong from the first two groups? Who knows haha

Time to stay glued to our phones! (They mentioned that they’d call first)
So if my math serves me right, they had 3 sets of interviews (for the 5/1 deadline) of 20 candidates each. That’s 60 candidates for 20 spots. For everyone waiting to hear back (myself included) 33% isn’t too shabby!
They don’t do a proper waitlists, but they offer PT status to 10 students. If you’re offered PT status, you have the option to take as many (or as few) non-ANES classes as you want and you are guaranteed a spot in the next cohort. The 20 people already accepted are likely people who were offered PT last year + applicants who submitted in Feb.
They call people who were offered PT status and offer them a spot in the current cohort should space become available. So it’s sort of does operate sort of like a guaranteed waitlist.
Good luck to everybody!

I agree, it’s incredibly rewarding just to get an invite from such a great program. Did they say they’re interviewing 100 this year? That’s quite a bit haha.
