University of Pittsburgh CRNA Spring 2023

Updated:   Published

Sorta surprised that there is no post for this current application for Pitt, especially since the application deadline is a month away. Decided to make this thread for people looking to discuss the application process.

Anyone applying to Pitt? I made a last minute decision to apply just a few days ago, so I'm trying to get all of my things in order to submit on time, haha.

Someone on last year’s forum said they got a rejection letter via email and then a bunch of people right after said they’d been called with acceptances. So I wonder if they do it all on the same day.

It's after 2pm, and they are almost done for the day. So maybe tomorrow.

Well, I will be the first to tell you that last year I got the rejection email. I reached out to two people…they stated they have not received all decisions from the committee to send out emails. Still completing the process. The other person stated they were sending my inquiry of timeline for decisions up the chain. So I guess we shall see.

No clue if they make all phone calls the same day or not.

Starting to sweat now…LOL.

Thanks for chiming in, that’s very helpful in easing out anxiety, haha. I assume you applied again this year as well? Did they say anything to you or give you feedback in why you weren’t accepted last year?

Wow. They still haven't made final decisions on people. Not what I expected to hear, but not surprising by how many people they interviewed. Thanks for the insight and will be eager to hear their response to your timeline email.

I did apply again this year, and interviewed. My situation was sort of specific, I’d be willing to share after decisions. I wouldn’t be anonymous if I did. I did receive really great feedback! I’ll keep my fingers crossed for all of us.

I’ll let y’all know what I hear.

From last years forum it seems like we’re in the same boat. They didn’t hear back until 2 weeks after the last interviews and then they also waited until Friday to reach out to everyone via email and phone calls all in one day! Hoping we all hear something tomorrow ?

Thank for doing that recon! Allowing themselves two full weeks from the final interview date to make decisions makes total sense. Of course, every second feels like an eternity, haha.

Here's hoping that we hear back tomorrow!

I saw that, too. Everything is just pure speculation at this point. It seems like there were a lot of good candidates, so they might be splitting hairs now.

Definitely seems like there was a very strong pool this year. Or perhaps they got more applications than they expected after the second deadline. I'm really starting to see the value in priority deadlines, haha.

2021 was 2-2.5 weeks as well following the final interviews. 2020 seemed quicker. It ended up being 1.5 weeks after.

As an update, I reached out to the admissions office and got a response stating that they're still in the process of selecting students and they are in discussions of how many students they feel comfortable accepting. Sounds to me like they have a lot of good people and are going to have to make some tough choices! Perhaps they may admit a few more than normal due to the fact that we're all super awesome ?
