I mean email regarding orientation for the alternate. I think they also have one for us but I haven't receive any email and haven't been able to contact anyone. Have you?

Well, Open House was quite an experience yesterday. I felt like I was drinking from a fire hose!!

Does anyone happen to know when student orientation will be? I didn't hear them say.

Oh yeah....are there any specific shoes for clinical we are supposed to buy. Can we have lace up shoes rather than the slip ons? I bet they will specify all of this in orientation, but I am buying them now....as well as a steth. Knowing my luck I will buy the wrong things :)

yes, it was overwhelming ...so much info

I bought the white Dansko shoes they were selling yesterday...I did a lot of research and it seems they are most confortable

student orientation Aug 12 and 13 from 8:30-5

I feel I am spending so much money everywhere I go....even background check ended up being so much more expensive because I lived in NY before:(

Thanks! I guess I missed that date somehow. I'm now doing all of the paper work for the bg and drug screening as well as calling around to get titers done. Phew!! So much to do....so little time!! Hey look! 15 posts!

I am sure you had a pink paper about the orientation dates...

I finally ordered the ebooks package...I was not sure I was going to do them but ...I tried amazon.com and the price was not that different...

They just have to be white, all white. And toes should be covered, no holes (ie crocs or other such shoes).

And as a side note - if you aren't a fan of the tapered leg scrubs, I would look into the wine colored urbane scrub pants, they make them more flattering for females. They're the same color as the "crimson" OU scrubs since they're from the same parent company.

I have a question for those of you already in the program...

do we need to have all the shots done by orientation or first day of school?

if not completed by orientation...is it going to affect our clinical placing?

Also are we all placed at the same clinical location? what clinical do we have 1st semester?

Would you mind sharing how/where you purchased the ebook package? Also, how much did it cost? I tried searching the school's website and also the websites for the individual stores but I didn't find anything.

Also, has anyone found a cost effective place to get titers and vaccines done? I think I only need a TB test and the varicella titer and I'm anticipating them not being covered under my insurance
