Hi All,
I'm new to this site and to the field of nursing. Has anyone gone to this school and if so, what did you think?
I live in San Diego, CA, and there is an online program that this school offers. I'm 3 prerequisites away from applying to the school, with a start date of August 08. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Nicole
Most of the time you get instant results - just like the quizes. This semester our pharm exams have a few answers that had to be typed out, thus graded by an actual person so we got the results of most of the exam but are waiting to see how we did on the short answers.
First semester is exclusively multiple choice (was last semester anyway) so don't worry- the tests are just like the quizes, in fact I found it very helpful to study the quizes for the exams.

How is Pharm so far? Pretty nervous about having second semester in the accelerated summer. Just wanted to check in with current students and see how it is?
Thanks in advance.
Hi everyone,
I have a question/adivice...I am takingmy last 3 prereq and I am planning to apply for August. However, I got a call today to ask me if I would like to apply for June. I will finish the classes May 3rd so they will not have my grades before they make their decision. I am sure many of you know this ....she said summer they dont have as many applicants...or maybe they just trying to have more people to choose from. I am confused and I know I probably not be accepted for June but I would like to see what your opinion is
thanks

Go for it! In our case we were told that if we weren't accepted we would automatically be considered for the next cohort, without having to apply or pay application fees again, so there was no risk. You can ask if that's the case now. I think summer might be a tough time to start because it's so condensed (11 weeks instead of 16), but then the rest of the program will probably feel like a relative breeze.
thanksI guess I am also worried that I had a plan staying with the kids home....my 2nd kid is only 7 months now so I was thinking I will be home till she is 1....I know it is hard to just think about changing....but then if I can start early it is also good
I would start early. I started in June and I think it was the best, that way the two hardest semesters (2nd and 3rd) are done over the long semesters, 16 weeks each. I personally think this is the best, especially because the 4th and final semester is shorter too.
Good luck!

I posted this in a different thread....
I won't lie, its intense at times. It was pretty overwhelming those first 3 weeks. I am still overwhelmed a lot. But this is how the week goes:
Mon - lab for 2 hours, study at night or when my son is sleeping
Tues - no class, but study at night or when its nap time.
Wed - lab for 2 hours again, study
Thurs - no class, but head to the hospital to pick a patient
Fri - no class, but at hosp from 6:00am - 2:00pm for clinical, study at night
Sat - usually hang out with the family and study in the evening
Sun - church, then traditional breakfast with my husband and son, then back home to watch football/study...
That was literally my schedule for first semester, which was Fall 08. My son was 2.5yrs when I started. I found that I had plenty of time to spend with my family. I made it a point to do so. It just all depends on how you study. Like some gals I know wait till the day before and they do fine. I can't do that, I need a constant study schedule, I hate cramming.
