University of Oklahoma-Accelerated BSN Program

Hi All,

I'm new to this site and to the field of nursing. Has anyone gone to this school and if so, what did you think?

I live in San Diego, CA, and there is an online program that this school offers. I'm 3 prerequisites away from applying to the school, with a start date of August 08. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I went to it last night (orientation) Promising but not promising. Looks like they are relying heavily on the GPA and to make sure our pre req. are really defined by OU standards versus CA and they told us that the tuition will go up after this summer!! They said that most likely we will move to Memorial or in that area be all on one floor and that they'll contact us if we pass the unofficial transcript phase enough to apply for the next application deadline. If not it seems they would like for us to repeat classes if that is what it takes to raise GPA. They only touched heavily on pre reqs and no I did not hear anything about any of you already in the program who will be affected by all the changes they are to make in the next few months. I was hoping their would be a student available to ask questions but none in site last nite. But I'm excited now I just have to wait till monday at the lasted for them to let us know where we stand. I wish I could remember her name that gave the presentation.

I believe they are changing things because of the large amount of applicants. Good luck! :)

Thanks. Word is getting around but because of the need for nurses, I'm hoping that other schools will follow and start these types of programs. This is the right time to go back and get into this type of career because it is a promising career and one with a lot of reward and gratitude compared to other jobs. I hope I can get accepted into any cohort at this moment I don't care when...I just don't want to go through the waiting like I had at SDSU before you realize you had to leave and find another avenue to be a nurse in SD since most of the schools for nursing in San Diego are impacted and have long waitlist!!

Does anyone know how long we will be on campus on Tuesday? I was an alternate and just found out they had a space for me.

I have on my calendar for the first week (next week is different)

1.) Tuesday 8-5

2.) Wednesday 8-10

3.) Thursday 8-10

4.) Friday 9-4

Wednesday and Thursday have different times depending on which group you are in. They are 2 hour blocks. The first group is 8-10, Second 10-12, Third 12-2 (wednesday), 1-3 (thursday).

I just got mine too! It completely changed from orientation haha. Oh well, I am happy with my clinical time... just have to get up a little earlier on the other days! See you all Tuesday!

Has anyone gotten their Angel login in their OU email yet? I remember the IT guy saying it would be most likely Friday or Saturday.
