Hi All,
I'm new to this site and to the field of nursing. Has anyone gone to this school and if so, what did you think?
I live in San Diego, CA, and there is an online program that this school offers. I'm 3 prerequisites away from applying to the school, with a start date of August 08. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jenn,
I don't think we'll need anything else. I actually picked up my books this morning and tried to install just now, and I'm one of those who only got ONE book on the DVD, so I'm still wondering when that'll be done.
I talked to Alexandra and she just said, wear your single colored scrubs and have id/tag. But I also assumed a notebook was implied, haha. I wonder what else we may need... hopefully they'll let us know more on Monday.
I'm glad I took a look at this! I was going to wear street clothes (I asked this question at orientation and was told to wear regular clothes but perhaps I was misunderstood).
Looks like I will be wearing my crimson ones since I just got back from a vacation and have not gotten others. I figured I may as well take one last trip before we start.
I'm definitely a bit vague on what's going on tomorrow. Anyone else?
Hi,
Thanks so much for this thread. It has been so helpful to me. I'm barely starting this whole process and it's encouraging to read about all of you who have made it into the program.
I still have several pre-req's to do so I'm hoping to apply for Fall next year or the following Spring.
Is anyone here taking Bio 144 in Grossmont College? It would just be great to form a study/support group if you are also trying to eventually get into UO's bsn program.
Thanks,
Theresa
ok, great. Thanks, any idea how hard this is to do? This is my one and only class I'll try to CLEP.
I didn't take any of the CLEP exams, but I bought the books (for Am History and Dev Psych), then decided to just do the class. I just felt there was waaaay too much info to cover.
BUT... I have heard from other gals that it wasn't that hard to get a 50% (dependent on the subject of course). I think you'll be fine with American Government. Just make sure you buy a study guide. They also have those Kaplan type courses (or maybe its Kaplan itself). Good luck!

Don't underestimate the CLEPs. I took three - Am gov't, US history II, and human growth and dev. It is not 50%. It is a score of 50 which they arrive at with some calculations of which I could never figure out. Definetly get the study guides (REA is best) also I joined a site that gives you online flashcards and it had a great forum with people who had already taken the tests.
Don't get me wrong, it's not super difficult but I wouldn't reccomend going in unprepared.
Good luck!

Good point! Its not 50%. you have to score 50, in that wacky grading scale they have.

Hi,
I did email her, she said to wear solid scrubs, not the crimson ones....and to bring notebook paper and writing stuff.
Is there anything else I'm forgetting?
