University of North Georgia Spring 2018 Cohort

Published

Hey everyone!

It's a little early but I'm already anxious about applying for UNG's nursing program this Spring 2017 to start the program 2018! I thought I'd start a thread for those of you also applying to maybe share scores, and study tips! I currently have a 3.5 gpa and am taking the HESI in March! I'm excited to hear from everyone!

Make sure y'all are checking the mail. I saw someone's snapchat story, and she received her acceptance letter already.

Will we get a letter before an email?

Marisa, why wasn't it the right term? Have you not completed all the core??

I got an email today from BSN admissions stating we should all know by next Friday & that notification would be sent to our school email address.

I failed the math section on my first hesi and only had one science class completed

Oh, I see. Hopefully we'll both get good news by next week! Best of luck to you!

Yes! I am so excited but nervous! Best of luck to you too (:

Hey guys! I was actually accepted for Fall 2017 and I'm in the middle of the Intro to Prof Nursing Theory class. If you guys have any questions about acceptance or the program as we progress, I'd be happy to help :)

Congratulations on acceptance to the program! We should all find out this Friday (28th) about ours. Do you recommend DM or PS for the Intro class? How hard is the class so far?

Thanks so much, good luck to all of you guys! I'm not sure what dm or ps is hehe, but the intro class is really pretty easy. It more of a discussion heavy class, with drug calculations practice, a drug calculation test (2 chances to score 95+), 2 content based online tests, one or two discussions a week, a report on a safety issue in nursing, and a few random assignments. You'll use the fundamentals book, and cover about 15 or so chapters. Also, your professor will have PowerPoints made that act like lessons, with audio of her explaining each slide.

Also, our cohort started a Facebook group including a few students that are further in the program that has been super helpful for questions! I really recommend it for you guys too.

DM and PS are initials to choose from. Haha

Specializes in ER.

Is anybody else going crazy waiting for Friday? It's all I can think about!!

Ohhh haha I see. I'm not sure who DM is, but PS is most likely Patti Simmons, who seems really sweet. I had Melissa Warren though for my own class, and she was great as well, so I wouldn't worry too much!
