  1. I have no idea, it just says that in the letter -_-;
  2. Techinically the requirements say no tennis shoes and no clogs...... which doesnt leave a lot of options. I dont know how strict they are on that though
  3. What kind of shoes would you suggest for nursing school clinicals? Our requirements are that they have to be white, rubber sole, and leather-like outside.
  4. So I know I'll need a stethoscope for nursing school, what brand do you recommend? Did your school require a certain color or were you allowed to pick? I currently have a Littmann 3 with black tubing and rainbow finish on the chestpiece on my Christmas wish list!
  5. I am currently in training to work at an assisted living facility that has a special building for 'memory care' specifically for dealing with residents who have dementia or Alzheimers. There is a lot more hands on tasks in the memory care like dressing, bathing, feeding, and changing brief of residents since they can no longer do it themselves where as in assisted living you help with similar tasks but they are mostly capable of everything and just need someone there for their safety. I plan on working part time here as I go through nursing school and have to decide which side I want to work on. My question is would working in memory care provide me with experience more in line with what a nurse's responsibilities are? I feel like the assisted living side would be much easier to stay on top of school but I could really work either one but if memory care gets me more prepared for my future I'd probably pick that one.
  6. I think a Facebook page is a great idea! Just v be sure you make it clear its not run by the university so it doesnt cause any issues with administration.
  7. I got accepted as well!!!!! So excited 😀
  8. That sounds like an awesome plan! I am pretty sure I got the job as a caregiver at the assisted living place, but if for some reason that doesn't work out I'll definitely go with that plan! Do you think working as a caregiver will provide at least some experience that would benefit me in the future?
  9. Yes! I am so excited but nervous! Best of luck to you too (:
  10. I failed the math section on my first hesi and only had one science class completed
  11. I actually have an interview today for a caregiver at an assisted living facility near me (:
  12. Yes it is! I currently am just like lookings for a way out right now so im just look for something with on the job training (i live near a major medical campus so theres actually quite a few openings) but am looking into to getting certifications like that in the future! Also i put in my two week notice yesterday because it reallt felt like good timing to leave my current job. So I've sent out a lot of applications to various places!
  13. Prettywishes, i would definitely look into it more! From what i heard most hospitals are constantly hiring techs! Especially if yoy live near a rather large hospital!
  14. I have a feeling if I don't beat them to the punch ill be getting fired. It really sucks! Im sorry ypu were put in that position. I am currently filling out an application to be a physical therapy aide at my local hospital for a part time job. Now i have to find a way to tell my boss I'm looking into other options.-.
  15. I could do that! Honestly right now Im just tryinf to find a place so I can quit my current job cause its awful. But I'll definitely look into it!
