University of Michigan (UofM) Accelerated program

Published

Hi everyone!!! I am new to allnurses.com - I was wondering if anyone has applied for the Fall 2009 accelerated program? I have not been able to attend an information session due to scheduling conflicts. Does anyone know how many people apply to the program or know any "insider" info? I know that 50 people get in every year - I just submited my application last week for the early response deadline - good luck to all!!

Good to know. I thought that it was fishy that this woman claimed to get in, but I hadn't heard anyone else getting notified. Well I do hope that people let us know via allnurses when they do hear from the school. Good luck to everyone!

I'm taking a class at WCC right now. Hope she wasn't talking about me. I've told people I APPLIED.

Wow, I can't believe they haven't released any decisions yet. MSU sent out letters early. They said we wouldn't hear until mid February but I got my letter yesterday.

Did they say when they might start making decisions??

I am not sure who she spoke with about it. I asked her after hearing that Michelle M. said they hadn't sent out any replys and she said she might have misunderstood the woman. I think we all just want to hear the magic words- you're ACCEPTED.

The bulk of us didn't find out until the first or second week of Feb last year. I don't think I knew anybody that had heard before that

I heard in December last year. I was waitlisted (and then eventually rejected right before the program started in September. My application, this years and last years, was marked complete the end of October. Still waiting to hear. I hope some

type of decision comes soon!

does anyone know if you need to fill out the residency classification for your app to be considered complete?

I'm not really sure what you're talking about but if it is part of the Common Application then yes. I thought there was a part that was asking about residency and family information that was for financial aid and that was optional. So if it's part of that, I think it's optional. Also, I think if it's required the the on-line application makes you put something in the space or you can't summit it.

Thanks!

I think I am just paranoid because I keep getting emails from UM saying the deadline is coming up.... Are other people that think they have everything submitted getting these?

I haven't heard gotten that email at all, and I know I'm all submitted...when you look on wolverine access does it list your application number and date submitted? If not you might want to double check that you don't need that, because I thought you did

You do NOT have to worry about residency classification. I got that same email and called U of M to inquire about it....they classified me as out-of-state even though I classified myself as in-state. It doesn't effect the actual application; however, one has until a week before classes start to petition a change of residency status. I am waiting to hear whether I get in or not before I go through the hassle of petitioning my residency. Hope this helps...

that helps a lot!!! thank you!
