University of Michigan (UofM) Accelerated program

Hi everyone!!! I am new to allnurses.com - I was wondering if anyone has applied for the Fall 2009 accelerated program? I have not been able to attend an information session due to scheduling conflicts. Does anyone know how many people apply to the program or know any "insider" info? I know that 50 people get in every year - I just submited my application last week for the early response deadline - good luck to all!!

Okay, I think I added you, but if it's not you then I'll just feel like a weirdo. lol. Have you gotten your packet yet? Lee said we would have orientation really soon. He called me on Monday and I still haven't received my packet. I'm thinking that maybe they'll send them all out together the beginning of next week or something?

Do you know if we're referred to BSNX4?

Yeah, you found me! I didn't receive a packet yet, I actually found out this afternoon by mail, no phone call. I thought we might get a packet or more info at the advising meeting...I'm going to the one on Friday the 26th I believe. And yeah, we're the X4 class, the letter I received today mentioned it.

Congrats Sarabear! It's going to be an awesome class! Looking forward to meeting you all at orientation in May.

BTW, for those of you that are interested, I started a facebook page for the UM second career nursing class of 2011. Just do a search on facebook for "michigan nursing 2011", you'll find it (not sure if I'm allowed to put a link in here). Hopefully it will be a great resource for us all as we muddle the program together

Thanks! Do any of you know someone who has finished or is in the UM second career program who wouldn't mind talking to me about it? A friend or relative? PM me if you do--that would be really helpful. Since I live in Oregon, I don't know anyone at UM's SON...

Hey all,

My application was misfiled as being incomplete, so I'm still waiting for my letter, but I wondered if anyone knew when the orientation starts in August in the lucky event that I do get in.

Orientation is either May 10 or May 14th, you can attend either one

Shoot... I'm assuming it's required? As it stands, I'm planning on leaving the country on the 8th.

Do you know when the two-week skills class (or whatever it's called) begins in August?

I got an email from the school, listing the pre-reqs that i still needed to finish, and the grades i needed to get, etc, and then it mentioned the orientation
