University of Michigan (UofM) Accelerated program

Published

Hi everyone!!! I am new to allnurses.com - I was wondering if anyone has applied for the Fall 2009 accelerated program? I have not been able to attend an information session due to scheduling conflicts. Does anyone know how many people apply to the program or know any "insider" info? I know that 50 people get in every year - I just submited my application last week for the early response deadline - good luck to all!!

Thanks. Good luck to everyone awaiting a reply or that is on the waiting list!!!

Hi everyone. I have been watching this thread for MONTHS! I finally have something to post. Has anyone received an email from UM saying they are considering your application for acceptance but asked for some more information and syllabuses from two undergrad classes? I got this email yesterday and I was wondering if that's a good sign. I hope it doesn't lead to being waitlisted! I already got rejected from another school where I applied and I am nervous I won't get into anywhere and many of my pre-reqs are getting too old to apply another year. :uhoh3:

Good luck to everyone.

I got that email yesterday, too! Some of the classes I took nearly a decade ago so, I don't know how I'll find the syllabi.

Oh, and you're lucky that you only have to give them two! I need to find syllabi and course descriptions for NINE classes. I don't even know if it's possible.

Ugh NINE?!? That is a lot of syllabi to find! Hmmm...maybe they are sending this email to tons of people then? I wanted to take it as a good sign that maybe I might get in but it's probably just something routine they do for people who took pre-reqs a long time ago.

It seems like it would bias their decision process towards recent grads. If I finished college last year, I bet I'd have all of these documents on my laptop or in my gmail. But, a decade ago, professors didn't even share their syllabi electronically! They just handed you a paper copy.

I got that email yesterday too. It was for a Psych class that I had put in my application that i was going to take this semester, but ended up taking another anyway, that they did have the syllabus for, so the point was moot. I see it as a good sign, if they were going to reject, would they really bother worrying about a syllabus for a class? I'm at least glad that they are reviewing the application. I guess I'm thankful I did my Masters at U of M so they know what all the courses are that I took years ago
