University of Miami Hospital Nurse Residency 2020

Hey all!

Wanted to start this thread to see if anyone had any information on the 2020 University of Miami Hospital Nurse Residency Program. I haven't been able to find much info on the program but am told they give preference to their UM graduates.... I went ahead and applied even though I'm not a UM graduate and landed an interview at the end of the week somehow! If anyone has any additional info on the hiring process pleassssse share.

I had my first interview on Tuesday and my second interview for the floor on Wednesday. Did you get a call back yet? 

I am not a UM graduate either.

I interviewed this Friday (yesterday). I assume if I get it maybe they will call back next week? The original job posting says the residency starts Oct. 12th.  Did you interview as a panel ? I interviewed with all the units at the same time and they asked me behavioral questions and then I got one question pertaining to an EKG strip. I feel really confident about the interview I just hope they feel the same !!

Yes, the job posting says Oct 12th, and I had a panel interview me as well. I was asked the typical interview questions and nursing priority questions as well. I was confident about it as well. I was happy that the unit that I wanted called me for a second interview. However, I have not received a callback and on Workday, it does not show that I even had an interview. So patiently waiting to see what happens. Did you get a callback?

Hello, I too am waiting for a callback. I had my second interview last Wednesday. I interviewed with the panel and then with the floor I wanted. Now its all just a waiting game.

No, I haven't gotten a callback.... ? But I interviewed for the first time Friday. That's why I was a little confused because seemed everyone else interviewed Monday and then came back Wed. Did they ask you in the panel interview how you felt with EKG's?... and then did they ask you if you wanted day or night shift and if you had any schedule restrictions? The man from the cardio unit specifically asked me this and then a woman from med surg asked me how I felt about working with COVID patients. I honestly had no idea we would come back and interview again .... they made me feel that if you got it then u would get the offer call. I hope I get a callback ?

Congrats on landing the second interview!! so wonderful! what unit is it that you want? I hope we all get it!

The second interview for me was Wednesday but it was through zoom. I was also asked which shift I preferred. I really want the oncology unit so my questions were revolved around oncology for the second interview.

That's awesome! Do you by any chance remember what units were in on your panel?

I think there was someone from every unit honestly. It was around 11 people

oh wow ! mine only had a few. I remember cardiac, PCU, oncology, med surg, and then someone from the residency education department.

Yeah those were in mine too. Hopefully we hear back sometime this week. They did say it would take 2 weeks though ?
