University of Miami Hospital Nurse Residency 2020

Hey all!

Wanted to start this thread to see if anyone had any information on the 2020 University of Miami Hospital Nurse Residency Program. I haven't been able to find much info on the program but am told they give preference to their UM graduates.... I went ahead and applied even though I'm not a UM graduate and landed an interview at the end of the week somehow! If anyone has any additional info on the hiring process pleassssse share.

@Est123 Hi, were you able to speak to the recruiter?

I am still waiting on a couple of emails to be sent out to me.

Hi Baren828, by any chance do you have the ACLS certification? and if you do how do you get it????

Yes, my school offered us the course last year before covid

Hey! I haven't looked into the parking yet. I might be parking at the metro station & taking the metrorail to the hospital. What about you? I saw the parking rates and it's expensive.

I know... according to the welcome book we will do this the first week of work, but in the mean time IDK where to park. R u done w/ your onboarding info? IDK what else we have to do for the first day?? I didn’t hear anything about scrubs or anything like that. I know the first day is going to be online. I’m waiting for the links & instructions

Maybe they will validate our ticket? Considering it's the first week. But I don't think we will go to the hospital the first week. The last onboarding information I completed was setting up payroll & the insurance. I was told we will receive an email today or tomorrow in regards to orientation. I bought hunter green scrubs because that's what I've seen all the nurses/staff wear. Also, the picture day for our IDs is on Friday and the dress code will be business casual.   

I'm waiting on further news as well.
