University of Miami Hospital Nurse Residency 2020

Hey all!

Wanted to start this thread to see if anyone had any information on the 2020 University of Miami Hospital Nurse Residency Program. I haven't been able to find much info on the program but am told they give preference to their UM graduates.... I went ahead and applied even though I'm not a UM graduate and landed an interview at the end of the week somehow! If anyone has any additional info on the hiring process pleassssse share.

I actually received a call from HR yesterday stating that I got the job, so I am excited to start! Have you guys heard anything back yet.

Ah congratulations! ? I haven’t heard anything. I’m nervous. I wonder if they’re going to continue to call today

Well, she did call me late in the day around 4 pm yesterday, so hopefully, she continues to make calls.

Hi everyone! I know this is an old post but I am just curious as to how this residency works. I applied for the residency this year and I was interviewed last week and got called by a recruiter this week stating that I was considered for the residency. She did not tell me which unit she just mentioned that I had to apply to a specific job listing on workday & that was it. Did you all have to do this too?! I did not know that it was 2 interviews and now I am nervous. The residency starts in 3 weeks so I'm not sure how or when I would be notified again. 

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Hi! Yes, that would be great. I received a call on Tuesday of last week but no I have not heard back. I was going to call later today. What about you? Were you also instructed to apply to a specific job on workday?

Yes, they called me last Tuesday, they left me a voicemail with specific instructions to apply for a specific job and the recruiter said that she will call me the next day but nothing until now. I called and left a msg and sent an email and nobody answer yet.  Let me know if they call u and viceversa.

Oh okay. I wasn't informed of the next steps so I'm guessing we have to do another interview with the specific floor that chose us from what I read in this thread. I'll let you know if I speak to the recruiter.

Do you know of anyone that has worked here or has been hired in the new grad residency?

I spoke to the recruiter today...she looked up my information & offered me the position. She didn't say anything about having to do another interview. She explained the hiring process and what I needed to do in the upcoming days.

I suggest calling your recruiter again until they pick up! They might have an offer ready but just haven't gotten the chance to make phone calls yet.

I called the recruiter directly. I called the same number that was left in the message. The recruiter who left you the message is the one you need to contact directly.
