Hello! I am wondering if anyone has been admitted to the part time FNP program at UM. I applied this week & I am looking forward to hearing back from them in regards to my application. I would like to know how long to wait after submitting your application through Nursing CAS ? Any information regarding the admission process and the part time program in general would be greatly appreciated
Daniella, I am not sure how many people apply or get in to the program for acute care. I was told that not nearly as many people apply for acute as the FNP. With there being less spots I'm not sure if it is any less competitive. I think the best way to improve your odds is to have your application in on day one because the process took so long for me I feel like it was all last minute and there were less spots left. I may be wrong though.
I am curious if any of you guys know anything about Kendall Regional Medical Center. I was offered a travel position there today and it's the closest job I have found to campus by like 30 minutes so I want to accept it. The problem is it's tough for me to pull the trigger on a job and rent a home sight unseen. Can anyone give me any insight on this hospital? It is in their medical icu.
I hear ya...thanks for you input Quinnk! I agree there are less applicants since they require at least 1 year critical care experience.
Has anyone gotten the email with institutions to get into blackboard?
I got an email from the Writing Express professor, but can't access it since I haven't gotten the blackboard details..
What about you guys?
Hi guys,
I already live in downtown miami, so I got that part down. For those looking to relocate, please be aware of some misleading posts in craigslist, cuz it happened to a friend. Some posts answer with an auto reply that ends up being a link to subscribe to roomster.com or other site.
On another hand, We are in week 1 of the APP course, and in writing express I see there is no writing assignment yet.
Best of luck
How is everyone doing with the prep course? I rented the books for our first semester from Amazon. Only $41 total for both books which is much cheaper than the school bookstore rental. Shipping is included too. I'm Looking forward to starting next month. Just finally settled into my house here and started a travel position in Kendall regional hospital ICU. I hope everyone is doing well!
Hey! This prep course is a lot more work than I anticipated haha but def helpful. Yeah I just ordered my books with a store called Book Horizons which is an off campus bookstore across the street. I'm excited to finally move down there next week an start in the ICU at baptist south Miami :) Looking forward to meeting everyone!
Nice! Yeah I have not been able to get too far in the course because of moving down here from New York. Just this week I started doing it daily. Hopefully baptist isn't hurting as bad as Kendall is because patient ratio here is usually 3 to 1. Good luck with your move and get ready to learn some Spanish!
