Hello everyone,
I am interested in applying to the accelerated program for this upcoming year (2014). I am planning to start my application within the next few months and would like to hear from those who have already been accepted or are filling out an application as well. If you don't mind sharing your overall GPA, pre-req GPA and any helpful tips you would like to recommend when filling out the application. Although I am not limiting myself to the U, this is the university I have my heart set on so any information is greatly appreciated. Congrats to those who have been accepted and good luck to those applying

hey everyone!!! I am so grateful I found this forum!!! I have also been accepted to the Accelerated BSN program starting this january 2013. It has been an absolute NIGHTMARE dealing with administration and I am glad to get some validation that it really is extremely unorganized and that this is not indicative of the program itself ;-) I have been harassing the nursing dep on a daily basis just trying to figure out the simple question of if I got accepted or not 3 weeks ago lol, and my cane link account says my application is incomplete and I never received an acceptance email lol. But finally I received both packages 2 weeks ago, one of acceptance and one of list of things to do. I bothered UM so much I actually got an advisor in the program to email me that list of things to do 3 weeks ago because I knew with finals coming up and having to relocate I would not have time for all the drama...only 2 more rounds of vaccines to go!!lol. I faxed my scrub ordering 3 weeks ago and never heard anything, and they never charged my credit card. Is anyone else having this issue? Also, as far as enrolling in classes, I was told by a man named Jude that we dont register for classes ...that come Jan 10 th or so he will automatically enroll us in our classes because they are all the same and there is no such thing as getting a good professor or better class times...is this true?

Congrats mfmonroe04! Yes it has been quite the process figuring out what needs to be done! I go back for my TB result tomorrow, other than that I'm done with my immunizations. I also sent over the uniform order form about a little over a week ago and I haven't heard anything either. As far as classes go, I already see my courses in canelink, the only TBA are the clinicals...Can't wait to start!!

Hi ladyb, where do u courses show on cane link? Mine just shows the online course and when I try to open spring schedule it says I'm not authorized. Are you looking at academics in student center? These canelink really is terrible..
Hello Everyone,
I have recently received admission to UM for the Spring Onset Program and I was wondering if there is anyone out there looking for a housemate or someone to share an apartment with? Or do any of you have any information about housing in Coral Gables? I am from out of state and would love any insight I can get! =) Thanks everyone and congrats to all that have received admission! =)

Hey Steffany! Yes, that's where my courses show up, under academics in student center. Maybe they haven't finished registering everyone yet??
Hello everyone!
Congrats on being accepted!! I was also accepted for the spring 2014 Accelerated BSN. So excited and nervous to start! I feel like we should have more information for the start of school. I feel like they should tell us everything we need as well, what they sent us seems to be missing things. Does anyone know if we will know our full schedule before orientation? Can't wait to meet everyone!
I applied to UM's Accelerated BSN program for the Summer and I really hope I get in. My GPA is ok, a 3.4. I completed the common application and I thought there would be another application to use for the nursing school. The registrar emailed me that my common application had been sent to the nursing school.

Hi everyone! Congratulations on your acceptances.
I was also accepted into the Accelerated BSN program starting in spring14 and I'm currently looking for a roommate and a place to live in Coral Gables, preferably near campus. Is anyone renting at the University Inn? Please shoot me an email if interested! bbdprincess at aol. com
