Hello everyone,
I am interested in applying to the accelerated program for this upcoming year (2014). I am planning to start my application within the next few months and would like to hear from those who have already been accepted or are filling out an application as well. If you don't mind sharing your overall GPA, pre-req GPA and any helpful tips you would like to recommend when filling out the application. Although I am not limiting myself to the U, this is the university I have my heart set on so any information is greatly appreciated. Congrats to those who have been accepted and good luck to those applying

I just sent you an email.
Hello! Search for that exact title, there are two. Join the one that has the higher amount of members-should be the first one:)
Hi Futureumstudent06, for whatever reason the other one still does not pop up on my facebook search?? I'm sorry if I sound ignorant in this matter, only the one I created pops up...
Ladyb553, have you received anything yet? I still have nothing showing up on canelink. I just graduated in May (class of 2013). I'm a little worried bc i want to make sure i save my seat and i want to get all the fingerprinting and all the immunizations done.
I haven't received anything either!! I want to get started as well. I literally just got off the phone with them and they said I should be able to see it under canelink by tom morning. I think i'm going to start doing the requirements regardless. Here is the link Clinical Information | School of Nursing and Health Studies | University of Miami

This is so frustrating, i have logged in three times in hopes that something would show up on my canelink and nothing! I called the nursing school and she said the dean hasn't signed off on all packages yet, and that she can't do anything about my canelink, so she transferred me to admissions but still nothing.. How can they think this is fair to the students? There is so much that needs to be done, and can you imagine all the students that don't know about allnurses, they have no information at all. Seriously, so frustrating.

I know it's incredibly frustrating. I'm assuming since they had that issue with the applications they will be a little lenient about requirement deadlines...let me know if anything changes, I'll do the same...

I'm getting a little nervous because I have not received the instruction packet either. If you go to the School of Nursing and Health Studies website and click on Current Students at the top of the page you can find the 2013-2014 Nursing Handbook for the accelerated program, the link is on the right hand side. It has a lot of information regarding immunizations, the background check, CPR certification, etc. The cover page says that it was updated November 16, 2013, which is strange because that day hasn't happened yet. You could maybe check with the Nursing Department to see if the information is accurate for the January 2014 program.
