University of Miami Accelerated BSN 2014

Published

Hello everyone,

I am interested in applying to the accelerated program for this upcoming year (2014). I am planning to start my application within the next few months and would like to hear from those who have already been accepted or are filling out an application as well. If you don't mind sharing your overall GPA, pre-req GPA and any helpful tips you would like to recommend when filling out the application. Although I am not limiting myself to the U, this is the university I have my heart set on so any information is greatly appreciated. Congrats to those who have been accepted and good luck to those applying :D

Good luck getting it set up. I tried posting the group last night but it got pulled because it was a direct link. All I can say is to try to search "University of Miami Accelerated BSN Spring 2014". Don't know how else to point you there :/

Thanks, but I am still having trouble finding it:( I'm not really sure where else to look. I definitely see the "University of Miami ABSN May 2013"

Hi everyone, I am still pending my letter in the mail which was sent Oct 25 but already accepted my seat via cane link. Can you please advise what the package includes? Does it have a to do list, such as shots, etc, that have to be done before a certain date? Please advise...

I think the group may be private....Whoever started it can you double check so that we can be added as members? I would like to post on the page to see if anyone is looking to become roomates as I will be moving to Miami....Thanks!

The packet was just a letter about acceptance and a folder/brochure that said the standard "welcome" stuff and instructed you to pay your deposit. It said other materials would follow (which I haven't received yet) but didn't say anything about shots or other deadlines. It did say that orientation would be January 9th.

Thank you PoppyPomfrey for responding, I am so disappointed I still haven't received the letter but they are looking into it in admissions as it was sent on Oct 25. Hopefully, I get it soon. Anyhow, I already paid the deposit so hopefully I receive the next packet on time.

Aa1216--mine was sent then too and it took almost a week to arrive--look like it had been dropped in the gutter and run over with a car!! Wonder if something happened with the mail bag or something since it seems like a fair number were lost/delayed.

Anyone know if we need scrubs for the first semester? I assume we start clinicals pretty quickly in such a short program.

Haha my envelope was in rough condition too!

I just received an email! No letter, and nothing on canelink either... I find it pretty strange. Im nervous and excited! I want to reserve my spot but i cant because there is nothing on my canelink, it even says i dont have any applications pending.. They clearly are a mess.

Hi Steffanyleni, I have the same situation. I got an official email but no packet yet and it says I have no applications pending on canelink. I've called twice and they keep telling me not to worry that it will update soon. By any chance are you a UM alumni? I am so I figured that might be the problem. Anyway, congrats on your acceptance!

Friendly staff note:

we do not allow linking to FB pages. You can however, LIST the FB page here. Thanks everyone .

Hi ladyb553, yes I am a UM alumna, so I'm assuming that has something to do with it since we didn't submit a common application. Someone called and told me that if the canelink doesn't update by the time I receive the package to call so they could figure something out. What year did you graduate?

Hi everyone! Congrats to those who recently received their acceptances! I just found out that I was accepted as well! Does anyone know someone who is currently in or has completed the program? I'm just interested to see what others think of it, like how intense the program is and if they enjoy the staff/clinicals. Any input would be greatly appreciated as I'm currently trying to decide between schools! :)
