I am interested in applying to the accelerated program for this upcoming year (2014). I am planning to start my application within the next few months and would like to hear from those who have already been accepted or are filling out an application as well. If you don't mind sharing your overall GPA, pre-req GPA and any helpful tips you would like to recommend when filling out the application. Although I am not limiting myself to the U, this is the university I have my heart set on so any information is greatly appreciated. I got my letter on the 30th! The letter was dated the 25th and postmarked the 28th but I didn't get anything by email at all. I was able to find the link on Canelink to accept my enrollment and paid the $300 online, but it's weird because under admissions it says my app is incomplete. And my to do list says this:

Uhh... not asking questions... I'm assuming they already processed my stuff but didn't update Canelink to reflect it. You already took my money; you can't change your mind!
Hmm...I am getting worried! Nothing in the mail yet but I do live in Illinois. I don't seem to have access to CaneLink though. I didn't know we could get access before we got in. Does everyone here have access/when were you granted access? I am very worried that they didn't review my application at all since they seem incredibly disorganized.

There's a link somewhere on the UM to set it up yourself. Once you've got it set up you can see the status of your app, etc.
Still no access to canelink and IT wasn't very helpful....but I did get my acceptance packet today!!! Letter was dated Oct 25th. Now I have a decision to make! What do people know about housing, the neighborhood, etc? I am deciding between Loyola Chicago and Miami, and I have honestly never even visited Miami before so it would be a big change!
You can set up your own cane link, all you have to do is go to miami.edu/myum and click "first time using canelink" to start a new account. I believe it asks you for some info such as you ss and date of birth. However, they are doing maintenance on the system and it will not be available until tomorrow. I am still pending my acceptance letter but I already accepted my space via canelink and paid my deposit.
Yea thats all it can do apparently! One of our future classmates created a group page. Check it out, its called University of Miami Accelerated BSN Spring 2014. You can post comments on there and we can add each other.

Good luck getting it set up. I tried posting the group last night but it got pulled because it was a direct link. All I can say is to try to search "University of Miami Accelerated BSN Spring 2014". Don't know how else to point you there :/
