Hello everyone,
I am interested in applying to the accelerated program for this upcoming year (2014). I am planning to start my application within the next few months and would like to hear from those who have already been accepted or are filling out an application as well. If you don't mind sharing your overall GPA, pre-req GPA and any helpful tips you would like to recommend when filling out the application. Although I am not limiting myself to the U, this is the university I have my heart set on so any information is greatly appreciated. Congrats to those who have been accepted and good luck to those applying

Hi guys--
i keep going into cane link, i see NOTHING! do you guys know where I look to see if I can even see the status of my application. They have had my material since the first week of september, but told me a week ago that my transcript was to old, so i got them a new copy and today they emailed me saying that the application went for review. Anyone know how much time it takes? i'm curious, because i've read thru the information and i'm seeing NOTHING! my cane link isn't even updated! (still says they need my transcript!) oyyy!
I havent received anything. No update on my canelink either. I don't even see anything that says "my programs". I called today and the woman I spoke to said letters are going out tomorrow. But I have heard that every time I call, so I honestly don't know. I feel like someone pranked me with the email since I have yet to receive a package or any canelink update. Where did you go for "my programs"? Did it just appear in your student center?
What Aa1216 said is exactly where I found that and yes it just appeared.I know it feels like something weird is going on with the letters. What I don't understand is if supposedly letters haven't gone out then how is it possible that some people on this forum received their letters weeks ago?? Doesn't make any sense...
I think the confusion is because there are 2 batches of letters; acceptance packets and then letters that tell you everything else you need to do next. Some people were notified they were accepted but never got an acceptance letter or vice versa. There's definitely something screwy going on behind the scenes.
I hope the " U of M"works out for you. I grew up in Miami and graduated from Southwest H.S.; went to school in Boston and stayed in New England. I also did a career change from teaching. I started in EMS and then got my BSN and just finished FNP. I hope GPA is not the deciding factors for college admissions anymore. Rather, I would like to see diversity and life skills. I taught BSN students for years. Many were task oriented and skilled at completing assignments but lacked the overall skills and desire to become proficient nurses. Just my take on it. My averages were Undergrad Education-3.8, undergrad nursing- 3.9 and grad nursing- 3.6.
I believe I gained more competency from clinicals and patient experiences then I ever did in the class rooms.
I hope Miami works out for you. I remember Jackson Memorial was an incredible teaching hospital in the area.

yeah that's probably what the problem is, im flying down to Miami tomorrow for Thanksgiving, i think im going to drop by UM and make sure I've done everything i need to do. Don't want any last minute surprises and the program starts in a few weeks!!
I got a letter in the mail saying everything I need to pay for etc. However I still have nothing in canelink. When I click on "details" it says I'm not eligible. It says my enrollment date was nov 11 and my advisor still pops up as my previous undergrad advisor. I'm still not allowed to do anything and it's frustrating because in the letter it says I have two weeks to get everything paid.
