Hi ALL,
I wanted to start this thread for all those who applied and are interested in applying for UM's Accelerated BSN next spring (Jan 2013)!!
Has any one applied or been accepted yet?
Please reply
DST1913,
They did not make me re-apply, I was given admission for this upcoming semester without re-submitting any additional information. I had a once in a life time opportunity for deferring, I was asked to provide the reason and had to wait for a committee to decided if they would accept my deferrment. I am not sure what other reasons they would defer admissions for.
Hey Anelite2014,
If not do you think you could give me a name and phone number of the real estate agent you are using so maybe they could help me as well. Thanks for your advice and help so far.
P.S. Does anyone know if we are allowed to post our emails on here, so that we can communicate?

I have my 11 year old son with me so I am not sure having roommates would be convenient, plus I will have to find a school for him to attend. Also, I would need two bedrooms.
P.S. I am not sure if we can publish our e-mail address but you message me here and I will give it to you.
Hey LSYM2012,. I just posted on another post to see if we are allowed to post email address on here, Never had to pick up and move to a place I've never really been with no familiar faces, so I'm super nervous.
I am really nervous too... I was born and raised in Miami but I have not been back there is almost 15 years so I am sure things have changed. Hopefully we will be able to see each other during orientation. I am so stressed... I am breaking my lease in my current rental so my real estate agent is trying to find someone to rent it or I will be responsible for the rest of the lease here.
Anelite 2014 and Anne 1234,
Tell me about it, I feel like a tornado has hit since I accepted the enrollment for Spring! I am guess this year is going to be very stressful but all very worth while.
Anne1234, I am still hoping somebody will make a Facebook page as I do not want to be the admin and it would be easier to message one another. I am not sure if you can post email addresses on here, let me know what they say. I am most nervous about the moving process and finding a decent and affordable price, so we should def keep in touch.
Congrats!
DC, great city. Regarding suggestions, a lot revolves around what you are looking for. For example, for many part of the attraction of Miami is Miami Beach, but the cost and the incovenience of crossing a bridge (just in case Miami Beach is on an island) during the duration for an intensive program is probably not worth it. Also, in addition ot the classes, time will need to be budgeted for looking for a job.
Hi Everyone! I just received my acceptance letter today! I am so excited and can not wait to meet you all!ps. Any suggestions on where to look to live? I am moving from DC.
South Florida Market Update,
I am a big believer that part of the school experience is to simultaneously seek for a job. Here is an update about S. Florida that might be interesting. Baptist Hospital has reduced the schools that it partners for its scholars program from 4 to 2. The surprise (for me) was that Miami Dade was dropped, given that it is the largest nursing school in the area. I wonder if this means that Baptist will be open to hiring students outside of its scholars program, or/and that there will be more Miami-Dade students approaching the same health care facilities that we might be looking into.
