University of Miami Accelerated BSN-2013

Published

Hi ALL,

I wanted to start this thread for all those who applied and are interested in applying for UM's Accelerated BSN next spring (Jan 2013)!!

Has any one applied or been accepted yet?

Please reply

Congrats to all of those who have been accepted!! I can't wait to meet you!! I have some recommendations to start the process. Once you pay $ 300 to admissions in order to be a new UM student. You will need to keep all your inmunizations up to date and CPR card (see in the web page). After paying $ 300 you will receive an e-mail, letting you know for background check, drug screening, and FBI check to America Data Bank (it's aprox. $ 165), after that you need to pay $500.00 for save your spot. ( which ISN'T refundable)

Best of luck and see you in January!

$300.00 is to admissions and the $ 500.00 is for saving your spot in SONHS!

Starvilla and Anelite2014 ,

Thank you for the information, just got my official letter in the mail yesterday! I thought it was odd that I got a hard copy already as per SOHNS they were not sending out acceptance packages until later this month / early next month.

When is the 500.00 due? I have not received any notice for that yet...

That is great, I have not received the actual letter yet either, just the email...

Hello Fellow classmates,

Sorry I'm late and just now engaging in this discussion board but I just found this site. Anyways Congrats to everyone who has been accepted this far and to those of you still waiting for an answer keep your head up. I just received my acceptance letter so I feel like I have to hit the ground running. I will also be having to move to Miami, So I will be looking for a roommate or multiple roommates in order to try and keep costs down. I think it will be a great asset to have roommates that I attend classes with and we can help each other study. I'm a 24 year old female that's responsible, dedicated, and gets along well with others. Anyways I'm not really sure how this site works, but I know I can't send messages yet for some reason. Maybe we can connect on an email (I just don't prefer facebook as a means of communication). Also if anyone knows of areas that are good to rent or apartments that are good to rent near the school, I will take any information that anyone can give me. I'm from central Florida (cocoa beach) so I have no idea what I'm getting in to as far as moving to Miami. Anyways congratulations to everyone this far, I can't wait to meet my soon to be nursing family. Hope everyone is doing well.

Congratulation... :yeah: Welcome to the group. I am on the west coast of Florida and I have contacted a real estate agent to help me find a good place on the east coast, but there maybe a few people on this thread that are looking for roommates too. Good luck :D

So I was just thinking... Will we all be in one class together and is there another group that starts in May 2013?

Anne 1234,

My fiance and I are looking to get a place close to campus we will both be students we are looking to lower the cost of living.

Also, I think you have to have 15 responses prior to being able to send private messages. I am not 100% but that is what I have read in the past.

Anelite,

I am thinking we are all the same class in terms of graduation but will have different schedules/teachers and clinical rotations. Also, I do think there is a class that starts in May (Summer) as I was originally accepted for May 2012 but deferred until Spring 2013.

Awwwwwww so I might not meet everyone here... :(

Hopefully we will meet each other along the way. How large are the classes?

LSYM2012,

When you deferred enrollment to Spring 2013, was it still guaranteed or did they have to screen you again?

Thanks and Congrats on ur acceptance. I am thinking of doing the same thing.

They going to let you know when will be $500.00 due through a letter during following weeks. The pay will be around two weeks after you receive that letter.
