Hello :)
I am kind of early with this thread, but I am pretty excited about the possibility of starting nursing school in May! Anybody else out there considering UM's ABSN program for summer 15? Also, anybody that has gotten in the program if you don't mind sharing helpful information, please do! I will still have 3 outstanding pre-reqs that I am registered to take in Spring. My cum GPA & pre-req GPA without those last 3 classes will be a 3.3 for both. I think I have a fair chance, could be better! (and will be once I finish pre-reqs) But anyway, share your thoughts about this program if you are considering as well! & good luck :)
I am finally finalizing my application, I had to actually bring the transcript form to one of the schools I've attended and honestly I've been dragging my feet. But, I finally have that all squared away. Time is flying so in no time I am sure we will be hearing about acceptance from all of the programs.. good luck everyone! Anybody have everything completely submitted?
Hey there! Im glad to hear you finished your application! I posted a few days ago about my experience so far (if you want to look back a few posts). I submitted my application in December and everything was Verified a little over 2 weeks ago. At this point my application was sent to UM's system to be reviewed by their admissions committee.
I was told directly from UM that it takes about a month to hear from them. Again, its been about 2 weeks for me, so I'm looking at mid-February to hear back.
If you finished the application today, allow 10-12 days for your information to be verified by NursingCAS. Once verified, it will be sent to UM. Then you wait about a month from there. So you're looking at about a month and a half to hear back. I would give it until the 2nd week of March, given that this is prime time enrollment.
Good luck with everything!
Thanks for the response! All of my coursework was verified today, yay!!! They said that my application is now available to UM, so I guess I'll hear back around a month from now :)
They also said that my GPA was calculated and is now available for me to check. I can't seem to find where I can view it though. Do you happen to know where?

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME !!
I have recently decided to apply to this program. From reading the post I see that this process can be tedious, and I only have about a month ! So I will be submitting my general application today, by the way would I send my application as a freshman or transfer student ?
I don't remember there being a question on the NursingCAS application that had us assign ourselves as freshman or transfers. Sorry
Also, have you requested transcripts? I remember I was going to apply last minute to this same program last Spring and decided to call the program advisor. They told me it was best to just wait until the Summer to apply in order to increase my chances of acceptance. If you haven't ordered transcripts yet, or just did, it will take about a week to arrive and another 10-12 days to get processed. Same goes for recommendation letters. And if all goes perfect, which at times it may not as most of us have experienced, UM will receive your application with less than 2 weeks to review. It may be possible that most acceptances have been delivered and not many spots are open. Finally, if the worst occurs and you don't get in (knock on wood), your chances of getting accepted the next time around are lower since you'd have to apply as a "reapplicant."
This is just the advice I received from the advisor when I called. Maybe it would be best to wait until next Spring? However, if you've already sent your transcripts then there shouldn't be much to worry about since they will start processing them as soon as you submit (once all of them have arrived). Either way, stay positive and ask us any other questions you have in mind! :)

Thank you so much for answering my question. It seem like waiting for Spring 2015 is my best option. I wish you and everyone else on the this board the best of luck with getting into this program.
I will probably have more question when I start the process for applying for spring!

They just got my final transcript in today! (After waiting since December 29th!) They already started verifying it today as well. Wahoo! I'm just worried that my letter of recommendation hasn't come in yet (thought it had before, and just asking my recommender to re-submit since I originally had him submit it to the 2.0 system). It's interesting though that NursingCAS already starting to verify my application without the recommendation in yet.. I guess it's just for the transcripts and all but I don't know if they'd submit my application to UM without the letter since it's required. Anyways, good luck everyone!!
