University of Miami Accelerated BSN Summer 2015

I am kind of early with this thread, but I am pretty excited about the possibility of starting nursing school in May! Anybody else out there considering UM's ABSN program for summer 15? Also, anybody that has gotten in the program if you don't mind sharing helpful information, please do! I will still have 3 outstanding pre-reqs that I am registered to take in Spring. My cum GPA & pre-req GPA without those last 3 classes will be a 3.3 for both. I think I have a fair chance, could be better! (and will be once I finish pre-reqs) But anyway, share your thoughts about this program if you are considering as well! & good luck :)

I messaged them on Facebook, and oddly enough they answered, lol. They said: "Hi Krystyna, Thank you for reaching out to us and we are happy to help. Unfortunately there isn't a good way to check if a transcript has arrived to our processing center. Have you reached out to the school to ensure that they were sent? Your application will be updated as soon as it is scanned and processed. You can review this on the Program Status section of your application. And please note that we will continue to process transcripts, even after a deadline has passed. If you have any further questions, please let us know! Thank you"

I guess we just have to wait it out? :/

@krysty0214... for me it's an issue of updating grades from fall 2014. so basically i wanted to get my new grades in.

Ohhhhh, ok! When did you send your new transcript with the updated grades?

Hey girls. I had the same problem... I ended up contacting the school and asking them to send the transcript out again. Usually if you are polite, you can convince the school to get it out in the mail the same day you request them to resend it. Mine ended up getting there pretty quickly when I did this.

As for the verification email: this is from NursingCAS. Once you get the email stating that your application is verified, UM will be able to go into your application in their own system and review you for admission. Verification has nothing to do with UM's side. They only begin their part of the process after verification is completed. Hope this helps!

i talked to a lady in the office and she said i should hear in a month. i didn't get an official email saying its verified, but an email about prerequisites. so does that mean my app is verified? is there a separate email regarding prerequisites and application verified?

Again, the verification email should come from NursingCAS. If you are unsure, log into your account, click on the link (left side of the page) that says "Manage my Programs," at the top of the page are 3 tabs: click on Program Status. Here you will see the program and the status. There are 3 phases: Received, Materials Received, Verified. If they are all green than you are good to go!

Glad you got it figured out @lagirl_1989!!! My transcript finally arrived today!!!! Now they can finally verify my application :D
