University of Miami Accelerated BSN Summer 2015

Published

Hello :)

I am kind of early with this thread, but I am pretty excited about the possibility of starting nursing school in May! Anybody else out there considering UM's ABSN program for summer 15? Also, anybody that has gotten in the program if you don't mind sharing helpful information, please do! I will still have 3 outstanding pre-reqs that I am registered to take in Spring. My cum GPA & pre-req GPA without those last 3 classes will be a 3.3 for both. I think I have a fair chance, could be better! (and will be once I finish pre-reqs) But anyway, share your thoughts about this program if you are considering as well! & good luck :)

Is there is difference between myUM and Canelink? If I try to get to Canelink it takes me to myUM. Ugh!

Well, when I was an undergrad at UM, there was no such thing as canelink, it was all myUM. Now, apparently, mostly everything is done through Canelink. When I log into my old myUM account, it has a link there to take me to canelink. Can't do much of anything in myUM. Is it asking you to create an account on myUM?

Well now I figured it out haha. But I agree, nothing to do on myUM. When I do log into Canelink however, I get an error so I can't get to the page. I think someone else on here was having that same issue.

Guys, be patient. I spoke with AC on Thursday and she said decision letters were sitting on her desk and were getting sent out on Friday. (I would assume she meant via regular snail mail). We are supposed to get a letter from admissions followed by information from the School of Nursing. We will find out soon enough!

I spoke to AC on Friday and she seemed impatient and wouldn't tell me my decision ... This is making me worried...

What makes you feel that way? She didn't seem impatient or anything when I spoke with her... I feel bad :(

It was the second time I'd spoken to her. I'm not sure why .. Maybe because it was Friday afternoon lol. The first Time she seemed very enthusiastic.

Aww... Like I said, just be patient. She seemed pretty happy when I spoke with her and gave me a lot of information. However, I did kind of explain to her that the reason I was calling is because I'm trying to plan a 1200 mile move to attend UM and need to try and plan ahead. She seemed happy to help after I mentioned that. Keep your head up! Everything will be fine!

Hey Guys,

When did you get your canelink ID info? How long from when you applied?

I don't think any of us have officially received our cane link yet. We just tried logging in ourselves by resetting our usernames and passwords, lol.

Update: AC told me that a decision on my application would be made by the end of next week! Gahhh!!! Good luck everyone! Any updates?? :D

Congrats!! :)) When did you submit your app?

I submitted my app Jan 15, was verified on Jan 29, but UM didn't receive my application until Feb 12 because their system wasn't showing new applicants for some odd reason. They know that I submitted early though, so that's good!
