University of Miami Accelerated BSN spring 2018

Published

Hey all, I've been waiting to see a UM ABSN 2018 thread pop up but figured I might as well start one. I submitted my application on March 17 and still waiting for NursingCAS to verify my transcripts. From what I've gathered through past threads, its a rolling admission so I'm hoping to hear back in the next few months! Curious if there's anybody else out there who has applied or planning on applying!

I'm hoping someone can help answer a few questions I have. This is long winded but bear with me. I submitted my application last week on July 25th, it took SO long to have my course work entered (I paid to have them do it), I called nursingcas yesterday and spoke to someone and they said as long as my transcripts are received and my application is submitted by the deadline (which it was) then I'm fine but I didn't realize that after the coursework being entered my transcripts would have to be verified! SO finally today, my transcripts are ready for review, I submit everything and now my transcripts are being verified and this could take 10-12 business days! I'm starting to worry that all of this wont be done in the two week buffer time they give to get everything else in.

Does it really take 10-12 business days to the transcripts verified?!

If it takes too long does that mean all of this was for nothing and my application wont be seen by advisors? Nursingcas has been the biggest pain and I wish we were just dealing directly with UM. Any help or advice would be appreciated! I'm feeling pretty stressed :nailbiting:

Hey Chloe, there's hope! My transcripts were verified literally one day after I approved my coursework. If anything, call NursingCas and nicely explain your situation. My customer service rep said they couldnt really do anything, but could be he put in a word and helped my work get expedited. There is hope!

Ahhh! Ok that's good to know! They just started the verification process yesterday evening so hopefully they get verified soon! I only check NursingCas like every hour to see if its done yet, lol. I'll definitely call them if it's cutting it close. Thank you for responding!!

I submitted my application on July 20th. does anyone know when I might get a decision?

Hey! just an update for me. I applied and was already verified on July 31 and had yet to receive a CaneID even though I kept scanning my emails. I called the tech desk today and they said I had one issued and should have received an email about it but never did. So if you haven't received one yet and its been a while, make sure to call!

My transcripts got verified! Yay! I'm so relieved that only took a day. Also, for those who still haven't gotten a cane id, you can register your own instead of waiting for them to send you one and check the status that way. that's what i've been doing because I'm too impatient! CaneID Self-Service

Have you heard anything yet? What does your application status say??

So I applied on July 31 already verified, called in on the 4th and received my CaneID, Received email with same CaneID on Aug 7th, and my status still says Incomplete. Under incomplete, it says they need my "Letter of rec, College report, and College Transcript". Do you guys have that too? It was all on my Nursing CAS app so i am just giving them another week or so to process all of it before calling.

Hey! not yet. I only sent in my application on the 25th so I'm not expecting to find out for at least a month or so. My application status says "incomplete" which from what I've read isn't uncommon until they are ready to give you a decision. Maybe I should call just to double check though lol What about you?? Does yours say complete?

Hey! my app says "incomplete" on canelink, but it's not asking anything of me. I would definitely call them to make sure they see that it was submitted on your NursingCas application. My understanding of the "incomplete" is until they are ready to view your application, it stays incomplete and once it says "complete" is when people should expect to hear back on a yes or no. I'm going to call tomorrow to double check, though!

when did you submit your app?
