University of Miami Accelerated BSN spring 2015

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello everyone, I just wanted to start this thread for anyone interesting or planning on applying to UM for spring 2015. I am finishing up the pre-requisites I need...doing micro class and lab. So far those are the only things I know I have to take. I'm extremely nervous, mainly because of the waiting game to see if I'm accepted or not.

I had to take over class, so I am not too happy about that either, so that also makes me a little down.

Also when I called the other day, someone said they are changing the application process, did anyone else hear that information?

Are you guys finish with all your pre-requisites?

Do you know how much repeating a class puts you in the hole for not getting accepted?

Pipmunk,

I can see your message but can't respond to it since I'm new to the site!

If you want to, privately email me at [email protected] so I can respond.

gracemiami,

I applied to the program before they switched it over to nursing cas thankfully all of my information rolled over and I didnt need to re-do my application. I applied with all of my prereqs finished.

I agree with the comment someone made earlier about this thread being less active than other threads from applicants on previous years. I have completed my pre-reqs as far as I know; however, I been having problems with NursingCAS receiving my transcripts, which is really bringing me down -__- I'm hoping by the end of next week I'm able to submit everything. Good Luck to everyone!

uclabruinggrad,

i don't think so

I applied through the common application but admissions told me I had to also apply for nursing cas; they have two different applications from me. I know people keep saying it is not rolling admission, so what has the process been like in the past? I just assumed that admissions was rolling admission. Has anybody heard anything yet?

gracemiami,

i'm so curious too!

I applied before they switched but someone called me and said I had to go through nursing Cas...so I'm in the process of doing that now : (

Hello everyone! Are you guys paying the fee to let Nursing Cas update your transcript (grades) or are you doing it yourself? Anyone completed that step yet and what did you do....or what you recommend?

Hi,

I applied August 10th and I will say that while it looks and seems grueling it really isn't too bad. I had it all done in one sitting. I certainly suggest that you save the money and set aside 30 minutes or so and put it in yourself. Just follow your transcripts exactly and then they will verify and send you emails following with a GPA calculation. Good luck :)

PS- I did get a letter in the mail stating that it will take around 4 weeks for a decision to be made and it also provided me with my cane-link log in information. Seriously can't wait to hear back it seems like it is forever!

The grade entry process is super tedious but it goes faster than you think. Save your money.
