Hello everyone, I just wanted to start this thread for anyone interesting or planning on applying to UM for spring 2015. I am finishing up the pre-requisites I need...doing micro class and lab. So far those are the only things I know I have to take. I'm extremely nervous, mainly because of the waiting game to see if I'm accepted or not.
I had to take over class, so I am not too happy about that either, so that also makes me a little down.
Also when I called the other day, someone said they are changing the application process, did anyone else hear that information?
Are you guys finish with all your pre-requisites?
Do you know how much repeating a class puts you in the hole for not getting accepted?
I received some information regarding background check/drug test/immunizations from the nursing department on Friday. For the background check it says that if you are out of state it is recommended that you complete this in Florida because it can take up to 12 weeks for out of state background checks and it has to be sent to UM by Jan 5. I'm not sure why its quicker in Florida if its a Federal background check. Are there anyone out there who lives out of state that has seen this as well? Let me know what you guys think
They sent a letter out on October 29 and you have to have a $500 payment in 2 weeks from the date the letter was mailed or else your acceptance will be revoked.. so that would be November 12. I didn't receive mine until November 8th which is leaves close to no time to get that money in. When did you get your acceptance letter?
Well i saw in the communication sections that they mailed out my acceptance letter last week Thursday.
They mailed out my acceptance from admissions on Oct 22, and I received it a few days later. The nursing department mailed out their information on Oct.29, but like I said I didn't receive it until Nov. 8. You should probably be receiving something in the next week or two. Just make sure to read the letter carefully because you have to send $500 to the nursing department within 2 weeks the letter was mailed out, not when you receive it. Also, I called the school today and they told me that I had to get my fingerprints taken for the background check in Florida because doing it out of state will take 12 weeks and UM has to have the results by Jan 5. Are you an out of state student?

I had trouble viewing mine as well so I tried opening it from a different source. At the bottom of your Student Center page, you'll see a big green check mark indicating that you were accepted. That's how I originally found out since I couldn't open the document from the Communication center
