Hello everyone!
I hope it's not too early to start a thread for University of Miami Summer 2020 ABSN cycle but I have already submitted my application and want to see who else has as well. It is my first time applying but I hope to get in because it seems like a top notch school. I would be relocating from California if so. Hopefully we can all stay updated here!

Can I ask both of your stats if you don't mind?
I think I have a 3.2 overall gpa and right around 3.0-3.1 science GPA so nothing too crazy. I just have a lot of experience that I know helped. 3 years as a medical scribe/trainer, medical mission trip to Nicaragua, medical assisting, 3 years of volunteer and research experience etc.
I got in as well! Undergrad GPA was 3.52 and retook some classes to get my GPA higher after graduation. Still have to take intro to psychology and chemistry starting January. No medical field experience for me so don’t let that get you down! You got this! I’ve been applying for nursing schools for over a year and a half and finally got it. Trusting the process was the best thing to happen to me!
I have also received an acceptance!! I am in my last year of undergrad right now with a 3.54 GPA, no medical field experience, and I just completed 2 prerequisites this fall semester and I have 1 more to go spring semester.
My partner and I will be moving from New England and have started the search for housing! We are also interested in knowing where everyone else is looking for housing in the area.
hi everybody! i haven't submitted my application yet, but plan to do so soon. my GPA currently is a 3.57 and my prerequisite GPA is about a 3.35 ? do you think i have a chance at getting in? one of my prereqs is also a transfer credit from high school - do you think they'll accept that? i also have no volunteer experience, or any experience for that matter, in a hospital but I've worked as a Registered Behavior Technician (therapist to children with autism), as a Research Assistant in a research lab that did ADHD work, and as a Peer Educator with the Counseling and Psychological Services, among other less important jobs. I was also on the E-Board of an honor society and eventually became the president as well. I'm scared that I did too much while taking my prereqs and that because I wasn't only focused on my classes, my chances of getting in are lower. my experience is also very psychology related because that's my major (i graduate this upcoming spring, and if i get accepted to UM for nursing, will be starting there immediately after!).
also, congrats to everyone who's received their acceptance letters so far!!

You definitely have a chance of getting in. I would contact the school itself about the prereq from high school, but if it was taken less than 5 years ago I think it should count.
